Nice 14AWG extension - just remember to mind your gauge
This extension cord is marked as 14AWG (the gauge or thickness of the wires). I checked my refrigerator's too-short cord; it is marked as 18AWG, which means it uses thinner wires than my new extension cord's wires. With this extension being only 3 feet long, it fits my needs perfectly and doesn't give me any worries about adding too much resistance from the increased overall length of the power cord to the refrigerator.Remember, the only way to tell the gauge or thickness of the wires inside a power cord is to look for the AWG value. It is always either stamped or printed on the outside insulation jacket of the cord. The thickness of the outside insulation is not an accurate indicator of the gauge or thickness of the wires within the cord. For example, my refrigerator's power cord has a very impressive, thick outer insulating jacket, but the wires within are only 18AWG, which is not as substantial as I would have guessed from the looks of the cord.

Very good, well made, and durable short extension cord for your higher amperage devices
This is a very good, well made, and durable short extension cord for your higher amperage devices like Air Conditioners and space heaters. I don't use them for that, I use them in my garage as many of my outlets are blocked by boxes or industrial racking. The 90 degree plug allows you to not worry about it getting knocked around. With a regular plug, and the first few inches of the cord, it does not take much to nudge a plug, leading to a broken outlet, loose connection, or knocked out plug. The first two items have the potential to start a fire. These only extend about 1" from the outlet and are less likely to get bumped.Extension cords are notorious for causing fires, which makes them restricted in offices and other places, but usually allowed in homes. These are less likely to get hot because they are 14 gauge and are rated the same as most home outlets, at 15 amps 120 volts. They still should not be daisy chained, run under rugs, carpets, etc, used in wet areas, etc. Use good common sense, or do an internet search of a RELIABLE source (ie not Amazon questions and answers from other users, you tube videos, etc).

Safe to use, worth the money
Pros: I have been using this to power my portable ac (rated 8amps) for a week straight. I have been checking every few hours for signs of overheating, but so far have seen none. There was only day it was MIDLY warm, which is probably due to the ac running on full blast all day.Cons: This is GREAT product, but what I say next is reason for the 3-star rating. These comments are relevant on July 2018, and may become irrelevant if the seller fixes these. First, this cord is 14 gauge, not 12 like it says in description. Second, the packaging is different than shown in the picture. Incorrect product details is, to me, false advertisement, and should not be tolerated.

This is NOT 12 gauge! Its 14/3
The description on Amazon claims 12/3 size cable. It is actually 14/3.

Caution: cord cable exploded/spark
Looks and feels very sturdy. Heavy duty material. After 6 months of use, the cable touched something metal nearby while plugged in and it exploded. I assumed there was a very small hole in the cable: I don’t know if it was manufacturer’s flaw or if it was due to wears and tears. The cable was never stepped on or in any way abused. It was always tugged away. Very disappointed that this heavy duty material cord would just exploded; this is the first cord i’ve Ever used that it has this type of damage.

Transports electricity to the appliance
I have used this extension cord a few times with an electric patio grill and it worked fine with only the grill becoming hot. The plug is secure and all the insulation is thick enough to encase the 14 gauge wires and I don't expect it to crack or split. At 6 feet, the current doesn't have to travel far, just what I need for my space and when not being used, it wraps well for storage.

Cords exactly as pictured and work perfectly.
Bought 3 of these to replace regular straight out plugs in my garage. I have shelving covering every wall and switching to these allows me to move the cabinets back another inch or two for more space to park vehicles. These work perfectly for this purpose. I always buy the heavy gauge cords so there's never a worry about what I plug into them - air compressor, bench grinder, band saw, drill press, etc. All are plugged in and working with no issues. Will buy again if ever needed.

Works perfect
We were in need of a heavy duty extension cord for our upright freezer we purchased. The cord worked perfect so we were able to re position the freezer. Came on time and will order again when the need is there again.

Great extension won't catch fire
Best for power hungry 14000 btu portable air conditioners. My old plug 🔌 got scalding hot to the touch meaning it was overloaded with wattage that it could handle. This extension handled the power current like a boss got slightly warm but you couldn't cook an egg on it like before. No more fire hazard 5 star!

Careful removing staples.
My one reservation was the neecless dbl stzples in the packaging. Pul-lease !OK. Good quality staplez. They may have used a good quality stapker. But why ? 3M in MPLS has a suitabke adhesive for this ! Adhesivez have evolvec, develiped, changec, a lot. And non-toxic. Please. One thin staple ???

Great short heavy duty flat extension cord
Needed a heavy duty short flat extension cord to give me some more room to push my washing machine closer to the wall so I could close the door that swings past it. Bingo!

Bonus
I used it for my Wi-Fi extension since they make it that you have to plug it directly into a socket which makes no sense since its behind a couch. This wire is a good gauge and proper. I’d use it for an Ac unit also
