Surge Guard 34850 Portable Model with LCD Display - 50 Amp

I have used this several times recently and I'm completely satisfied with the purchase. The unit works great and I feel more comfortable now knowing that the RV electronics are safe. I really like the display and the rugged T handles on the plug ends. The other feature I appreciate is the 128 second reset delay that protects from unstable utility power that can happen right after power restoration.The packaging from Amazon for these items needs improved however...I received my surge protector in a rather large box with minimal bubble wrap inside to protect the unit during shipment. The surge protector was not in any kind of packaging or wrapped up. It was loose and able to be "rattled" around inside the box.I guess this just goes to show how well built the surge protector is as there was no damage and it still worked fine.These units are pricey but consider the alternative of replacing all of the various electronic devices in your rig that could get "fried" during a surge.

I’ve used this device as a diagnostic tool as well as the surge protection I purchased it for. This is very heavy duty and a quality surge guard it performs as stated and after about a dozen uses I have no reservation in recommending this device. It’s a little pricey but compared to what it’s protecting I find it’s a very good value.

this is a great product and easy to use. I've been using an older model for years and purchased this one for my kids to use with their new motorhome. I've heard good things about the companies tech support, but we've never used it (never had a need too) so I have no personal knowledge. If this doesn't signal a safe power source, we don't take chances and just operate off the grid.

We recently purchased an Allegro Bus that is all electric and wanted a portable 50 amp surge protector for the motorcoach since you're never sure of the consistency of the pedestal power provided in RV parks. We did a bit of research and decided on the Technology Research surge protector. It is very high quality and works great. It is simple to use; just plug it in the shore power box and connect the motorcoach power cable, and it's ready to go.

I have had this for about 3 yrs and it still works fine. I was living in my 5th wheel forAbout a year and this device worked well. I left RV connected for over a year while I was living elsewhere and device is still working just fine.......NOT cheap but it's worth it.

I purchased this unit and used it for2 months without an issue I did have it trip twice during that time, but it did what it was designed to do, it automatically reset and we got out power back. Then we were at a campground and left for the day we returned to our fithwheel to find we had no power but everyone else did. It was late so I didn't bother our neighbors. This unit cleared a surge but but self destructing to save our RV. I contacted Southwire and sent the unit to them with all requested information. Today less than two weeks later I have a replacement in hand. Very good experience, plus who knows what damage could have been done to our RV. Very much worth the money.

Expensive, but TOTALLY worth it. As new RV-ers, we heard all sorts of horror stories about "bad" power at RV sites. Given the cost to replace your RV power converter, spending $300-ish up-front is cheap insurance. This one is especially nice because it will survive a significant power spike without blowing like some other less-expensive units do. It also gives you a digital readout of how much each 120V circuit is pulling at any given time which is good if you're trying to watch your power consumption....aka running the AC, cooking popcorn in the microwave and teenage daughter blow-drying her hair in the bathroom all at the same time. :)

I received this product on April 1st. On May 20th this product stopped working. I read all the bad reviews and took a chance. Stupid me. I will now try to contact the company that produce this product and work on a replacement. Keep you posted.

Nice unit works well a bit surprised in packaging and info unit in carton with minimal packing and no factory documentation or instructions
