Giraffe GIR101 1-Foot Long Reach Bypass Pruner

Ever prune a barberry? I've got a couple of those small shrubs, and their formidable thorns try to punish me severely when I prune the shrubs. This pruner keeps me away from the thorns, and I'm grateful for this fine apparatus. USA-made from USA parts by a USA company. Well worth the cost for just one barberry pruning session, because you'll finish without a scratch or puncture wound.

Got it today. Put the "hold" feature on and immediately tried it out. Not once did it "hold" and required multiple pulls to even cut a few new growth rhododendron stems. Very disappointing. Returning.

I have been using both the 1' and the 3' Giraffe Long Reach Pruners for awhile now and they are really useful tools for any gardener.I like to use the 1' pruner when trimming my roses as it allows me to easily get inside the rose bush without being scratched. The "cut & hold" mechanism that comes with the pruner is equally useful as I can pull out the cut piece and drop them in the yard waste bin without having to handle them.If you enjoy time in the garden and have a hand pruner on you hip, you will also find it convenient to have this 1' pruner readily available to save you from over reaching, bending or stretching too far. I highly recommend this tool.

I just ordered my second 1' pruner, I have a job where I have to maintain indoor hanging pothos in a 12 story condo with open atrium, I ordered this second one for a backup as I have been using my original one for two years now on forty (yes forty) inside beds, I would have to give up the job if not for my giraffe so I decided to order an extra as my contract with the condo has been extended another year and nothing else works for me. The one foot length is perfect, I have existing problems with my wrist and hand but the giraffe is lightweight enough for me to handle without pain and also the fact that it holds onto the cut piece keeps the cuttings from falling in the indoor pool and fountain below. I know this is a long review but I really can't say enough about this product, it is a blessing to have such a great tool to work with.
