Shameful - read before buying (and see pictures)
Wow... just wow. It's been a while since I wrote a review (lazy guy) but I haven't been so disappointed with a product for a long time.I really wanted this one to work. It has two unique "features" which are hard to find in similar tripods:- The pipes are not connected with some rubberish strings. Yes, it helps during assembly but combine it with fire and it melts away pretty quickly. See reviews on other products.- It has a nice (in theory) regulation of the grill height, with a roller and everything. it's almost unique and I was super excited to have one like that (instead of being cooked with the food when changing chain length). So in theory it's great but in practice:- I've received used (or at least unpacked with some attempts to assembly) item in a messed up cardboard. It wouldn't be a big deal on it's own but...- The parts do not match. See pictures. The leg "pipes" have messed up welding and thinner parts are too short in few cases. Because of that the legs do not lock with each other in 3 out of 6 connections making the whole item useless. There is no DYO fix for it unless you are a &#^$^% smith.- The locking mechanism (pipe to pipe) is laughable with thin wire instead of standard round pins and holes.- The welding work is laughable. The quality of the whole item is really low.- After all of the above I thought that I will continue assembly as I wanted to see the chain regulation (I was thinking about ordering replacement instead of returning the item). Assembling it alone due to hilarious, low quality and rather exotic leg locking mechanism at the top. It very hard to assemble it alone as it is falling apart while you are trying to do that. I am not saying it's impossible and probably after 30min (seriously) I would be able to finish with all the screws and other bulls$%$% but come on.So I stopped trying, packed the broken crap into a broken cardboard and will be sending it back. I REALLY wanted it to work due to chain regulation but I will just stick to another tripod I already have.Shameful experience, the parts don't fit. Even the cardboard label does not fit the foil pocket on the attached bag which made me cringe a bit for the producer and distributor. The bag looks solid :D.To summarize: you can try it out - maybe you will have more luck. I like the idea (regulation) but execution is so bad that I prefer to keep getting fried with other tripod than to deal with this garbage. To producer: you should really be in different business.

I thought I would buy it as it looked stronger and I like the bag
I have no idea what the designer of this was thinking. I have used tripod Grills for 40 years, and this leaves me scratching my head. I thought I would buy it as it looked stronger and I like the bag. Also the grill top has a lip on it so food will not slide off. I previously would just run the crate up all the way so it would not wobble all over and this works well. So the things I dislike on this Grill, from someone who Overlands a TON. First off anyone who uses these knows how soot builds up over the fire. This Grill requires a LOT of extra handling to assemble as the legs snap together with S-Clips rather than the bungy cord style that almost assemble themselves. This thing takes two hands and quite a bit of time to assemble. Secondly, the directions are horrible, and there hardware is 100% crap. i actually had extra hardware luckily, as one screw was missing the slot cut, and one nut had off center threads! The Pulley system is dumbfounding to say the least. Not sure what they were thinking. Lastly the legs are held together at the top with a piece of tin metal and nuts and bolts without Lock washers or lock nuts so the thing needs constant tightening. Also the legs use these crossbars on hooks to hold the legs from spreading to far, which is good, and bad. If you ever use one of these, you know that often times your fire pit is not perfect, and you sometimes need to move one leg out further etc or on uneven surfaces. The bag is also one notch better than paper so it is not very durable Also the adjuster that slides on the leg only adjusts the length of one leg because it then hits the S clip that holds the legs together....the best part of this was the laughter I got putting it together, wondering what the engineer was thinking. I will take the Grate and the Bag and use them as spare parts. After trying them all, i always come back to the $17 Coghlans one...its simply the best there is.

Very sturdy - Great value!
It was very easy to put together and to use it. We grilled chicken on the grill yesterday. Would recommend to anyone. Has a carrying case and easy to put away without taking entire thing apart. Love it!

Good for campers
The media could not be loaded. Im a camper. I had same one same brand. I used over 10 years. Was still good condition, very easy assembled & carrying bag. Finally wanted a new one I was searching , I sow too many different brand, they look same but simple, fragile, no carrying bag.Good things they are still in the market. Definitely recommend it. Also affordable price.

... of this and find this one to be a great combination of stable and mobile
I see a number of different versions of this and find this one to be a great combination of stable and mobile. It is quite stable for cooking over the open fire. It also breaks down rather easily for storage. There are certainly more heavy-duty ones that might handle several big pots (that would be a stretch on this one) but those won't break down easily. (The ones I've seen that were stronger were all home-made units.) I can break down and stow this one in less than a minute. I've done meats and veggies rather easily on it and even a couple of cast iron skillets side by side. I found two skillets were about as much as I could balance on it without losing it.I will say that one of the screws was too short to work (noted by other reviewers) though it did not slow me down. It was the one for the pulley (roller) and I just slid a piece of bendable metal through it (cut up a hanger) and bent the ends. Not even sure I'll need to rush to change that. The legs stay fairly cool at least for the size of fire pit I use it on. It moves so easily that there is no reason to leave it over the fire until you coals are ready.Even with the hardware snafu I am very pleased with it all in all.
