Very good tailgate tent - recommended
For what it is, this tailgate tents serves it's purpose. It attaches fairly easily, easily fitting over the open gate of my 2021 CX-5, and has of adjustable plenty of straps and ropes to secure it, including two stakes for the entry canopy. It also comes with 6 small rectangular magnets to place on the fabric in places where it gaps due to the shape of the car, to reduce incursion by unwanted insects. The idea is a good and effective one, but the magnets are too weak and too small, easily flying off as even a light breeze ripples the fabric. I happened to have some stringer ones which stayed on better as long as the breeze is not too strong. The zippers work well for the entry, and the large screen opening with the canopy extended provides plenty of air. I have yet to experience a rainstorm in that tent but am optimistic it would keep the rain out. Quality of construction appears excellent and durable with repeated use. My test-run was an overnight in a local camping ground, and then a longer test-run on a 4,500-mile road trip with 6 camping stops in the 6 SW US states. It held up well with the repeated setups and take-downs and made the car-camping experience tolerable. I don't really like sleeping in my SUV but it seemed the best solution for this particular trip since it was just for overnight stops, and this tent made it a better experience than to otherwise would have been.Photo shows it without the canopy extended - this was a particularly windy site with threat of rain.

Great for car camping!
This worked great on my rav4! It pretty windy one night and the tent held up. It was super easy to install, less than 5 min. I got the size small for my rav4 and it fit great.

Great product! Slight tight fit on 2022 RAV4
Exactly what my wife and I were looking for for our first car camping adventure. Was easy to setup with two people. We had to use an extra bungee cord for one side of the straps to reach the wheel to secure in place - was not long enough for our RAV4. I also wish that it extended farther on the top for a better fit, but it works great as long as you don’t expect rain. I would assume it fits perfectly for a smaller car (hatchback size). The outer layer rolls up nicely to hide away, I just wish the zipper was double sided like the screen. Harder to unzip from the inside.

Worth it.
Small fits 21 Forester. Love the airflow. Easy to put on for senior female even without the instructions. Wish there was another drop down for privacy in addition to awning piece. I used a tarp and extra poles and it worked. Very good price for what you get. I did treat the edges with bug spray and waterproofed seams with spray. Nary a bug or drop of water.

Awesome, reasonably priced SUV tent
I’ve had this tent for over a year and I do a lot of car camping in my 2006 Honda Element. I hadn’t tried it out until very recently but decided on a whim to take it on my last trip. Honda Elements are extremely versatile cars and have an almost cult like following, but the rear hatch is quite different from most SUVs on the market now (they stopped making Elements some time back) and the products designed specifically to fit this vehicle are so expensive it’s almost laughable. I found this tent on Amazon and figured I give it a go, knowing that it might not be a perfect fit but prepared to make it work in the interest of saving literally hundreds of dollars. I was very surprised and pleased, both with the quality of the product and the fit. It was easy to set up and with a few careful adjustments it was almost perfect. It provided me with easily an extra 2 feet of interior space in the back of the vehicle AND it allowed me to enter and exit with ease. (A major design flaw in the Element is that Honda did not see fit to equip it with a handle for opening the rear hatch from inside the vehicle). The extra ventilation it allows when sleeping in such a relatively small space is wonderful. It made the whole experience of car camping so much easier that I almost can’t see going without it now. There are some very small gaps near the taillight area where the tent meets the car, but nothing that can’t be managed by tucking in a small cloth, if you’re worried about mosquitoes or other insects finding their way in. It was otherwise perfect, and really one of the best investments I’ve made in my camping gear! Highly recommend!

Easy to use and great ventilation!
I have a very small SUV. My car is barely large enough to camp in, so finding a way to maximize available space was the priority. This hatchback tent is easy to set up. There are multiple hooks with elastic straps that can be pulled to adjust to different sections of the car to optimize a snug fit. The waterproof outer shell is easy to roll up to leave the screen opening fully available for optimal stargazing at night. No problems with the zippers or durability of the seams. It comes with a few small magnets to help secure the tent to the car. The magnets are pretty small and ineffective. If this is of concern to you, you might want to bring larger, heavy duty magnets with you on your camping trip as back ups.
