Worth checking out, for sure.
I bought this as an upgrade for a mic I use for commentaries on my Youtube videos. My old mic was the Zaxx Sound SF-666 (I'm not kidding). I upgraded so that I would get a more rich, focused sound by use of a USB audio interface (M-Audio Fast Track Pro) with 48V phantom power, as powered condenser mics get a better sound, generally. The Zaxx Sound is still useful, but it uses an 1/8" (3.175mm) integrated male plug that works great for cell phones (headphone / mic jack included) and came with a USB interface for a PC that wouldn't have a mic input. The cable is neither balanced, nor shielded, so I wanted something a bit more professional without spending hundreds. This mic is great, and as I have a desk mounted mic boom and tend to bang my arms on the desk, the shock mount works flawlessly. I cannot speak to the functionality of the mic through the included XLR to 1/8" cable, but would imagine that without phantom power, it's not going to be very sensitive to sound.I realize this is not a Shure, Rode, or any of the plethora of high end mic manufacturers, nor am I trying to compare it to those. For the money, especially, you can't beat this mic. It seems to be of fairly durable construction; the included shock mount as well. The sound is nice and clear with 48V of phantom power going to it. If you've got an interface that'll handle XLR inputs, and a way to supply phantom power already, you can't beat this gem.5/5 for quality of build, value for the money, and sound clarity.

Cheap Mic, but it gets the job done
I needed a co-host mic and this does the job. It really should have Phantom power but is not required. When hooked into my mixer it picks-up everything, which is not always a good thing. The main complaint is the amount of room noise it records. I work around it but it requires more post edit work.

Not Good For Professional or Semi-Professional Environment
After all the good reviews of this mic, I purchased two. Mistake.First, the mic looks okay, but the grill looks really cheap. The mount quality seems good, but the threads didn't easily thread onto my mic arm. I noticed the first mic had a metallic rattle to it as I was handling it. I discovered it was a small metal gold ring on the outside which is purely cosmetic. I was able to remove it easily since it just slid off.Once I got the mic connected, it all went down hill. I'm in a semi-professional environment with a mixer that supplies phantom power, etc. This mic is extremely cheap sounding and is over controlled with the phantom power. It was so bad that I simply thought I had a bad mic, so I opened the second box and tried the second mic -- same thing. I played with it for a while, but no luck. The mic also picked up every little "pop" and was over sensitive. It didn't take long to determine I was going to return them. I have $8 microphones that sound better. Maybe this works better on a laptop or something, but in a professional setting with a mixer, it's junk. Very disappointing.

After reading all of the reviews I purchased this as ...
After reading all of the reviews I purchased this as well as an amplifier. The problem I am experiencing is it picks up too much background noise. I have a water cooled computer that is rather quiet and while speaking with someone they asked if I had a fan blowing on my mic. I have tried the onboard sound card as well as my expensive external sound card with noise reduction options. No Luck, clear sound, but unusable!

Suprisingly good!
TLDR: On a budget and want a good mic for streaming and youtube? This will fit the bill. Just make sure you have an interface or mixer that provides 48v Phantom power.Overall quality of this mic is very good for the price. I was using a dynamic mic from radio shack previously and this is a very noticeable step up from that.Better pickup and lower noise floor meaning a lot less post-processing of recordings. The "gold" band was loose and free moving when I got it leading to a rattling sound when moved. Unscrewed base and secured it with a drop of super glue to resolve that. While in there I took a look over the quality of the board and capsule. Board was cleanly built and I saw no issues there. The capsule had a drip of some kind of glue that was covering one of the holes. Cleaned that away carefully with an exacto knife and have had no issues.

Excelvan BM-800 Condenser Microphone Sound Recording Dynamic + Mic Shock Mount.
Excelvan BM-800 Condenser Microphone Sound Recording Dynamic + Mic Shock Mount: Price was right for what I need the mic for, works great dose it work as good as a high end mic not really. But it is a good starter mic for the home recording studio. The shock mount is a little on the light side and looks as though it would brake easily the mount so fare is holding up OK. The mic is sensitive and will pick up background sounds like computer cooling fans light ballast etc. You will need a mixer to help filter out background sounds. Also you will need a 45 Volt phantom power supply or a mixer to make the microphone work. I use the Behringer XENYX 1202FX Mixer that has four Microphone inputs. The XENYX 1002FX has two Microphone inputs. These mixers have the 45 volt power supply.

AWESOME AND WELL WORKING; NEEDS PHANTOM POWER!!
This mic is great. I bought it to use in YouTube videos and on the side as my normal gaming mic. But don't let the horribly translated English description fool you; IT NEEDS A PHANTOM POWER SUPPLY! I originally purchased this mic without buying a phantom power supply and female adapter along with it. This was a huge mistake, as when it was just plugged in to my laptop or camera, the volume was so low that my lips had to be touching the mic just to be heard. After buying the phantom power and female adapter, ($26 total plus S+H) though, it was amazing! My friends on Steam said the quality was incredible, and the volume was perfect. I am personally very pleased with this mic, and can deffinatly recommend it to anyone recording YouTube videos/Brodcasting, and it's great for anyone looking for a better mic than the one on there headset or built in to there pc for gaming. Five stars.

Awesome. Blown away at this price point.
This microphone is awesome. Great sound collection. I use it with a mixer that can provide it Phantom power, which is require for this microphone. For the price, i was blown away by the quality, packaging and there was even a little USB sound card with it. Which was not included in the content package. That USB soundcard must be worth $10 itself at least. I had no use of that sound card, but it would've been great to use it.

Mic is surprisingly good sounding and sturdy
Needed a suspension mic holder... this also came with a mic for less than the cost of other holders. Mic is surprisingly good sounding and sturdy.
