Great paddle at a great price
Great paddle at a great price. Rigid, very easy to adjust no issues in the 3 times I've used it. Most importantly, it floats! Would definitely recommend and buy again. Blade cover is a nice touch as well.UPDATE: I have been using this paddle for quite some time and I am very VERY impressed with the overall quality as well as it's ability to hold up under harsh conditions. I have taken this in the ocean on multiple occasions and have not had any issues with it flexing too much or failing whatsoever. More importantly, there is no rust on any of the components after multiple exposures to salt water. It is still as stiff as it was the day I bought it. I'm considering purchasing an additional one once I get another paddleboard in the near future. Overall, I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a paddle in this price range, it can't be beat. By far, this paddle has lasted longer than any other that I have used. It is incredibly easy to adjust on the fly if you are swapping out people riding the board on a nice day at the lake. The cover has held up well over more than 75-100 uses and staying out in the sun for hours on end, I have not noticed any fading or had any issues with the zipper, what a great bonus that was to have! I will definitely buy from this product line again should I be in the market for another paddle anytime soon. Meanwhile, I will be out enjoying myself with the piece of mind knowing that i have this paddle as my primary means of getting around!

I paddle board nearly every day. I go in Lake Superior and there are almost always choppy waters in at least a few sections of my journey. I've been canoeing and kayaking my entire life and picked up stand up paddle boarding about a year ago. This is far and away the worst paddle I've ever owned. It flexes a huge amount so I lose a lot of power on every stroke. The joint where the extension comes out is not snug either so the top of the handle waggles around in the rest of the shaft, not only making a clicking sound on each stroke, but also adds to the extraordinary amount of flex, it makes it extremely difficult to steer with any amount of precision. My other complaint about the joint mechanism is that since it uses a hole and pin system to lock in the height, the handle must be pointed exactly forward and you can only adjust it in 1" increments. This is extremely difficult to do whilst standing up on a board if there are any waves because you have to sit and futz with it. It is by no means a quick adjustment. It's very frustrating. The last paddle I had, the handle section was square so that the handle was always facing the correct way. On this paddle, both pieces are round, so the second you release the the pin, the handle spins around just slightly enough for you to think it's oriented correctly. The paddle is lightweight, but the amount of flex and poorly fitting paddle sections make this paddle unusable for any serious paddler. If you are looking for a lightweight paddle to use in only perfectly still waters and you don't want to paddle with any vigor, this paddle is perfect for you. However, if you are a serious paddler who goes out in all sorts of conditions and you need a reliable paddle that will maximize your paddling efficiency, keep looking. Steer clear of this paddle. If you're looking for an excellent paddle in this price range, take a look at the "Jimmy Styks" carbon paddle. It's astoundingly better.EDIT: The extension locking mechanism broke on the third time I used this paddle. So now it does not lock in place. When the paddle jostles in a certain way, it comes entirely unlocked and allows the handle to slide up and down. Terrible in every way!

Good product, great value!
I've waited a couple months before posting this, so we could get enough use out of it first. I am impressed with the value for money. The cover is a nice extra and seems well made. The paddle is light enough, comfortable and appears to be well made. It's perfect for my wife and daughter, who paddle around the anchorage in calm weather. At 6'4", I have to extend it a lot, so for me, putting more power into my strokes means I get more flex in the shaft than I'd like. It's not bad, I just prefer little flex. The adjustment mechanism is quick and easy to use. There's a little bit of "play" between the main shaft and the extension piece. My Werner paddle, which cost double, has great stiffness, but has blade flutter, whereas I could not get this BPS blade to flutter at all!All in all, a good paddle for relaxed paddling. Great value!

Works fine under "normal" condition. Has some flex.
This a a very light paddle for the money. I have used it a few times, maybe 5 or 6 hours of use. Although this is noticeably lighter than my aluminum paddle, it also has more flex. Flex is lost power. One day that I used it was quite windy and had to put a lot of stress on the paddle. I thought it flexed quite a bit and got the feeling that it was possible to snap this under heavy enough load. However, on a calm day under "normal" paddling conditions I thought the paddle worked quite nicely. I don't think I would race with this paddle but for everyday use without conditions that will stress the paddle (strong current, heavy winds) it works great. Very light for a paddle in this price range. For this price I am satisfied, at least at this point.

Slices thru like warm butter!
This paddle far exceeded my expectations. I have been using a cheaper and heaver paddle for the last two years. I can not emphasis the difference in the ease of handling of this lighter more streamline version. I love the ease of adjustment on the paddle length and it can be done even on the board standing up while on the water. It is that simple! The paddle came packaged in a long box and well wrapped with protective wrapping to not get bent or scratched.I have seen some prior posts that say this is an entry level but I would rate it higher than that. Of course those folks may not have been using the heavy weight paddle I was used to before this new BPS paddle. If you are in the air about this and not sure if you should try it! Try it! I have a StarBoard SUP and its the largest one made. This paddle slices thru the water and pulls both me and the board like slicing thru a stick of warm butter!
