KRE-O Transformers Starscream Construction Set (30667)

Arrived in 2 days via Amazon Prime! My 5 year old loves the Transformers and the KRE-O Transformer kits let his imagination run wild! Not only does he build the kit per instructions, but he builds his "own" Transformers! Well worth the money!

Once I had built the fighter jet mode, I did not want to take it back apart for the robot mode. The jet just looks awesome! It features retracting landing gear, a cockpit that opens and fits a Kreon minifig, moveable rear flaps, and plenty of weaponry. And very few leftover bricks, which I fashioned into a counterweight for the ladder that reaches to the cockpit. The instruction guide is easy to follow and the result is a fantastic large model. Some of the weapons fit a little too loose; they fall off fairly easy, but all I have to say when that happens is "bombs away!" and it is all good.

As a kid I loved the Transformers and Legos and would attempt to build then out of the lego kits in availible in the late 80's to mid 90s and they never looked close. When i saw this kit I decided to buy it since Starscream was my favorite of the Transformers. I got and build for my desk at work. It took me about 3 hours of unproductive office time to built the kit. However the after getting the missiles on the aft section of the kit fell off. I was able to reenforce with some of my daughters Legos however it pieces still fall off and the stickers are now starting to peel off.

Bought it for a 9 year old's birthday, along with Bumblebee and Rachet. Starscream was bigger than the others, and the boy found it a little tougher to put together as well and needed some assembly assistance. He was very excited and love it though! I like the price over Legos ;) Would recommend as a great toy to have!

Bought this for a friend and was rather surprised by it. Assembly wasn't too difficult and "transforming" the model didn't take too much of a hassle eitherCame with all the pieces needed (a few extra even, if I remember correctly) and the model is pretty stable to stand displayed if neededGreat buy, would recommend

The box the item was in was very old looking. It appears that the item was used not new. I'm very disappointed because of the cost.

If by "new, innovative and creative" Mr. Frascotti means "a direct copy of a toy our competitor has been selling for decades" then, sure, I guess you could call it new.(+) good things about kre-o1. pieces fit with lego (well they call it "works with leading brands")2. instructions are printed in a nice thick book, asymetric angles, easy to read(-) bad things about kre-o1. pieces fit with lego (it's downright un-American to steal other people's intellectual property, don't you think?)2. the graphic design on the box is not very sophisticated, looks like a knock-off3. at this price, not really cheaper than lego (and there are lots of knock-offs out there that are cheaper)So I guess if you're the kind of person who thinks motorola is "innovative" because they knock off the iPad with their xoom tablet, make it the same price, and add a few features, then I guess you'll think this is "innovative".Otherwise, why not buy the real thing? LEGO is a classic, is reasonably priced, and doesn't steal designs from others.

Our grandson loves these and we are never disappointed!
