Great book to understand tasawwuf in the traditional/classical sense
Excellent book on the principles of sufism although not the most basic text. It needs some good understanding and contemplation. Would have appreciated expanded commentary and side notes as opposed to just references at the back but still a great book to read and reread. The quality of the book is also great. This text should certainly help one to understand what tasawwuf actually is and clear any doubts from the reader's mind about it (sufism) being some kind of an alien concept in the religion. One will find how tightly the real sufis are bound by the Fiqh and Sharia and how well versed they are in their knowledge of various sciences of the deen. Finally, one will find plentiful references to the lives and works of some of the greatest scholars of Islam.

Traits of a sufi
I enjoyed this read very much. I've been wanting to learn more about sufism for some time now and this book provided me information on what it truly means to love God. In this book you will learn the traits of being a sufi I'd say, but more importantly, how to build a healthy relationship with the creator. The book may be short, but is impactful, I would advise to let the heart read this book rather than the mind as this isn't a book entailed with rational instructions on the principles. This book is filled with stories and how those stories can help change your life.
