SamsungGalaxy A40 64 GB Android Dual-SIM 5.9 Inch Smartphone - White (UK Version)

Great phone, awesome screen, perfect size for me, and very snappy performance. However, its does not support the required LTE bands for AT&T in the US, so my speeds could never exceed 20 mbps on cellular networks.Had to return the phone, and ended up with a new Samsung S10e from Sam's Club with $350 in gift cards during the last sale event. The S10e is a little wider and the A40 is taller, but overall they are very similar phones. Can't go wrong with the A-series in general.

This was a birthday present for my technophobic husband because his old Windows phone was dying a lingering death and simply couldn't make or receive emails anymore.So after years of listening to moan and complain about Android phones being this, not being that, I quite literally pinned him to the sofa and made him use my Samsung pad. After a full day the winging & whining finally stopped.After 2 days he started to come around and after the 3rd day he started to look for a brand new phone ! (Miracles do happen).After searching for two weeks (believe me on this one, that's a short time for him) he had narrowed it down to 2 phones -this one or the Galaxy A50.After scrutinizing the blurb about the cameras, battery life, processor and anything else he could warble about he picked this one.I love this phone ! It kept him quiet for 3 whole days while he played with it, setting up the systems, pin numbers, transfering data from his old phone etc. etc.He's had it for 4 days now and he is absolutely made up with it. I asked him how he would score the phone and if there was anything he didn't like or couldn't do with it. He gave it an instant 10/10.For him, he's happy, but he's the kind of person who does not play games on a phone at all. He uses it as a phone and to get emails, use the sat nav and read the news, maybe watch some YouTube vids. He says the picture quality of the photos is amazing, and after seeing a quick photo he took of one of the cats, it does look very crisp, clear and sharp.As far as the battery life goes, he spent all day on it yesterday and only had to charge it up that night when he went to bed.It does what he needs it to, there's plenty of space left to download whatever he wants and it wasn't all the expensive - less than £200.

Claimed to be fully unlocked but was not. Also didn't realize it was a international model but overall good phone

Come on, you all know what a smartphone should do? I was looking for a replacement for my Nexus 6P which like my previous ones eventually couldn't hold more than a couple of hours of charge... so battery life was important.A good camera was second factor and the option to add storage third.The A40 does it all, an excellent camera at least the non-selfie side, only used selfie side once accidentally... I see myself in the mirror in the bathroom in the morning, once a day is enough.Easy to use, though lots of the Samsung apps I put in a cupboard under the stairs... except for Samsung's Smartswitch which made it easy to switch over.Reviewers have commented that it doesn't have a titanium or magnesium frame... give me a break, I'm not going to hammer nails with it... my office calculator doesn't have a magnesium frame either but it still calculates faster than I can.Like the headline says, this is a greatly under-rated phone.... easy to set up and personalize. I'd buy another but I only need one.I use it as a hotspot to my laptop quite a bit and the battery scarcely drops even after hours.

Very good cellphone. Would buy again. Most feature of a Galaxy S-series for 1/3 of the price.
