Q: I sent in the sample 12/1/15 when and how will I get the results?

The name of the company who does this analysis for Wix is ALS Tribology. The number is (770) 454-8000. They will ask you for your email address and maybe also your sample number. I had to call them after six weeks to get results. They had been done for weeks. They just didn't send them to me. The results were really interesting and helpful.

Indeed. You should see results via e-mail (assuming you've listed your email address on the information slip when you send your sample in). As mentioned below, the USPS turn stupid when you give them a cylindrical container with "liquid" or "oil" anywhere on it. My samples sent to another company arrive in 3-4 days when I box them but would take more like 1-2 weeks if I just mailed the bare cylinder and I even had one that took something on the order of 4 months to show up. No need for tracking or anything expensive, just put it in a box and address it to "OAL" at whatever address you're sending it to instead of the full name and you're unlikely to have an issue.

Q: What about Tan? (For those who don't know, "TBN" is total base number, a measure of the additive pack left. TAN is total acid number.

TAN is not included. TBN is not an inclusive measurement of the additive pack; it demonstrates an oil's ability to neutralize corrosive particles.

Q: My engine has only 30k miles on it. should i get it tested now or wait until later? running 0-20 full synthetic.

I used it for transmission If you are using the recommended oil and changing filter get a magnetic drain plug first. then if you see any amount of metal use it. I question 20 wt. are you in a cold climate? If so yes use it now If in a normal climate use a 5/40 or 5/30
