Worked for my Danby DUFM085A2WDD1 Upright Freezer, 8.5 Cubic Feet
My eight-year-old Danby DUFM085A2WDD1 Upright Freezer stopped working. The compressor was hot, but it was not cooling. A quick internet search suggested that the start relay or the overload protector could be at fault. Danby's website showed these as being out of stock and cost over five times as much as Amazon without shipping. I found both on this listing for less than ten dollars and same-day delivery. This was a low-risk option compared to calling a repair person or buying a new freezer. I replaced the start relay and overload protector, and the freezer started cooling immediately after plugging in.N.B.: This is the three (3) pin start relay. Some are 1 or 2 pins. Take pictures as you disassemble so you know you are reassembling correctly. Open the box and install it immediately because some people do not open crushed boxes immediately and complain when they have missed the return window (can we give these reviews one star?).Even if this fails yearly, it is cheaper than buying a new freezer or getting a repair person.

It worked!
Purchased the day after my 3 year old apartment sized fridge went out. No longer getting cold in freezer or refrigerator. Googled and watched some You Tube videos and put the relay in myself. Saved me some time and money! Ladies you can do it too! Not very difficult!

Overload switch
I just needed the overload switch. The relay was a bit different with more taps, maybe for internal lighting of bigger models. I didn't use it. Tested one at a time and the overload bit that's got white plastic on it fixed my issue.Pretty sure I fried it leaving it on in the driveway connected to shore power with it's hatch closed in summer temps. Lasted 4 years that way come to think of it. Now we put it on surge unit multi plug typical of computers to put an off switch in easy reach.PD 1.6 cuft fridge from Keystone Trailer for reference. Looks like the PD models share a lot of parts once I finally found them. Had to search refr model, not the actual part number on the part.Hope this helps. This was an easy change, skill level 1-2 failed part change.

Appears to be faulty
I ordered this for a vassini refrigerator that is actually a magic chef. The refrigerator stopped working after a power outage. After reading several “articles” on the cause, I thought this was the culprit. I replaced both pieces and it did not fix the problem. I tested the old and the new relay on a digital multi meter to see if the old one was bad. The new relay appears to be shorted out across all three posts whereas the old relay is not. I replaced the new with the old and still nothing. The smaller piece is only a fuse more or less and the old one was still good. I decided to dig deeper and took out the mainboard which is located in the cover at the top of the inside of the refrigerator compartment. That is where the problem was discovered. The larger relay on the board had burned out. Rather than paying 125.00 for a new board , I removed the relay and ordered a new one from yoyo electronics. Total cost including shipping was @ 7 dollars. It will take a week to get here but if it works, YAY. If not then a trip to the dump will be next. The fridge is 6 years old and truthfully I am surprised it lasted that long. I gave this 1 star due to the fact it appears the relay in the repair kit is faulty.
