VIZIO SS2521-C6B 25-Inch 2.1 Channel Sound Stand (Renewed)

Purchased as "open box" or "used" here for $75 less than I could find it anywhere else (no new ones available at the time). Packaging was questionable at best, but everything inside was in perfect condition in every way other than the optical cable was missing. Amazon is overnighting me a new one, so no big thing, but for now I just blue toothed my Apple TV to it. Everything is in sync so that's fine for a day (but have to re-pair after power off).As far as audio, it's really not bad. I'm not an audiophile, but this is a huge improvement over the flat, distorted TV speakers. You can adjust it enough to suit your needs, but keep in mind that this is a very inexpensive (and totally worthwhile) alternative to a truly good surround system that would cost far more. It's also comparable to most more expensive sound bars I've heard. I'm in a small apartment so this is perfect and easily moves when I do, and I don't need it so loud as to disturb neighbors. This is not going to rock the house but it's more than enough for me even after the hearing damage of 80's metal concerts and years on the race track.The stand on my 55" LG TV is 12-½" X 22-¾" and just barely fits on this stand, but remember that you can put it under other things in a different spot like I did for now. (I don't recommend on the carpet as the subwoofer underneath gets slightly muffled. The edges are beveled ¼" and the shallowest flat surface is 11-¼" and a little less after the rounded corner. The deepest is 15", but remember mine fits since this is an irregular shaped stand. I think with this info you can figure out if yours fits after a little math.Oddly enough, the volume control on my LG TV remote worked out of the box. (you'll need to turn off TV speakers in the setting menu on your TV though). Don't rule out a universal remote either. Harmony makes great ones.

I have a 46 inch Vizio TV that has the arched feet, and it sits in a custom cabinet in the wall. So a couple of problems here that I was looking for, A) something that would fit under the TV with the 2 inches I had to work with, check. B) something that would fit between the legs of the TV, check. C) something that wouldn't sound too echoey, bassy, etc, sitting inside of the cabinet TV stand, check.The sound stand, which I couldn't find anywhere in store to check and see if I liked the sound fits like a glove under my TV, granted both the TV and the sound stand are Vizio so thankfully I'm sure they considered that part at design. Then on to the sound, it's pretty great. So much better than the in TV speakers, pretty commanding sound for both the hi's and low's and they can both be easily adjusted to suite your preferences but will give you that feeling that you're getting great speaker sound. I also love that I can turn the TV speakers off, and also that the sound stand will turn on and connect automatically when I turn the TV on (and turn off when I turn the TV off).Definitely would recommend this product and so glad that I found this.

Perfect for me. Fits like a glove under my Ultra HD 42 inch Vizio and creates much more nuanced sound than what was built into the tv. It has surround sound, but definitely isn't like some awesome surround sound system. I have no need for that, so I am very happy with the sound quality! Deep bass, detailed treble, and an interface that isn't nearly as complicated as some people have described. As long as you have the manual handy, it's very easy to navigate the sound setup and adjustments. Some people have commented on rattling or vibrating and I can only assume that they aren't resting the speaker on a solid surface. Mine is on top of a solid wood chest of cabinets and drawers and there is no issue with rattling. Also, regarding the echo, definitely turn off your tv speakers and make your new speaker the only one. You can do this by going into to your TV menu audio settings. And, if you pause a show, the speaker will automatically turn off after a certain amount of time. No big deal: just use your speaker remote and press the power button and the sound will come right back on...it's not exactly heavy lifting. All in all, very satisfied with my purchase!

I purchased this as a gift for my parents. I had to learn how to use it, which was easy...then teach them how to use it, which was not as easy. At low to mid volumes, this really does sound pretty good. It was exactly what I was looking for: an easy to use speaker that sounds MUCH better than TV speakers. However, at mid to high volumes, the speaker distorts bass considerably. This is somewhat expected, but unless you can hear voices/music above the rattling of the Vizio speaker at high volume, it becomes mostly useless.We connected the unit to a smart TV, and it worked worked well with regular television and most apps like Netflix, Hulu, etc. However, when using the YouTube app, we have to unpair the Vizio and use the TV speakers; there is zero sound. This is a simple process for someone tech inclined, less so for someone that doesn't own a smart phone. Either way, it is really annoying.It fulfilled our gifting requirements, so I'm not upset with the purchase. Though if I were looking to purchase something similar again, I would not purchase this unit.

Installation was a breeze and it comes configured out of the box to work with the Vizio TV remote, so turning everything on and off is no problem. I think the audio quality is quite good (I did turn the bass down quite a bit to make it less boomy...) and there's ample volume for any home situation that I'd care about. The one star I've taken off is for a lack of subtlety in the volume level. Small taps on the volume will take it from too quiet to too loud (well, too loud when our youngest is already in bed) really easily. I wish there were about 2-3x as many stops in the volume level around our typical TV watching volume.

my Vizio tv has good sound, but with the sound stand the sound fills the room.Also good to listen to music from USB keys and bluethoot Ipods and phones.with all the inputs in the back you can use it as an amplifier from many sourcesgreat buy, very happy
