Great Bargain
I liked this product. Glad it was inexpensive. It really worked to cut down on the extreme heat we were experiencing this summer. Living in Hawaii we have lots of sunshine but this summer the heat was unbearable. When you were out and about, the heat in the air was stifling, so can you imagine what it was like in my apt? Temps were anywhere from 92 to 98 degrees inside my unit. No trees outside for shade. Even w/black out curtains, it was still extremely hot. Humidity ranged from early morning at 65% plus and got worse as day got longer. when I hung these solar curtains, OMG! the level of heat reduction was very noticeable. it's cooled down tremendously now, so I put them away. I will indeed be using them again next summer. Another thing, I live in a rental unit with louvers, so I'm not able to tint the glass, so these are the perfect solution for those of you that have similar situation. it hangs on a regular curtain rod, so how easy is that!

It's made my room so much cooler!
They're super, super ugly, but they're so cheap and it does the job perfectly. I like how these are slightly transparent still so I can get some more light. They're not as dark as blackout curtains and work WAY BETTER than black out curtains. My room doesn't feel like it's night all the time and I still get natural light in the day. Really really great buy.One thing to note is that they barely fit on my curtain rods so I actually had to cut the tops open and tape it around the rods. Also if you touch this, it leaves little streaky marks/finger prints from the oil in your skin.

It works, with some caveats
Read all the reviews. They prepared me for what to expect. The material is extremely easy to scratch. It will probably only be good for one Summer's use, but the price makes that ok. It DOES work keeping the heat out of my apartment. I followed one person's recommendation about not hanging them, but taping them to the window molding. When you tape it, it doesn't allow the heat to escape through an open curtain on the top. It's not very sexy, but it works.

Not see-through at all
I felt that the pictures showed you could see through these, but that is not the case at all. If you can get past the looks, I'm sure these work well at keeping out the heat. I just need more ability to see out.

it works perfectly but very flimsy
if you really want the functionality of cutting off the solar heat and radiation from Windows I would swear by this. it works and i am pleased with it ... exactly what I needed to cut off the afternoon sun and save cooling costsquality.... not good and i do not expect it to last... .. flimsy and the aluminium coating comes off easily at the folds and it is obvious when bits of sunlight come thru recommend me a better quality one and I would jump on it

Solar curtains provide relief
This is my 2nd set of solar curtains. My 1st set met with my skepticism. However, they kept the cold outso well, and later the heat, that I was sold on them. After three years, the 1st set fell apart (literally in tiny silver confetti pieces - my only complaint). I needed another set to help with energy conservation. I put these up in the front room which gets full Texas heat - they temperature dropped about 5-10 degrees in the room immediately after putting them up. I'm looking forward to using these all summer and then purchasing another pair for my patio door for the winter as the cold air seems to blow right through it.

It feels right to the touch, no matter it is freezing or roasting outside!
This is an excellent alternative to double glass windows, as it helps keeping the hose warmer in winter and cooler in summer. It feels the right temperature if you place your hand on top of it, whether is roasting or freezing outside. However, if you are cuting it for windows, it would help to attached it to screen frames, to keep it slightly away from the glass window itself. It is recommended on the package the material not to be in contact with water- and that's what happens if it is touching the glass, and it is freezing outside. But this material is really amazing and cheap! Keep in mind that it is not transparent, it lets some light in, but very little of it.

These are cheap, cheap, cheap. But not ...
These are cheap, cheap, cheap. But not the price...15 bucks for one panel made in China piece of flimsy film...hardly call it a curtain. You could fit these in your wallet!! I thought I was getting a pair for 15 bucks...don't curtains come in pairs?? Seller does not correct the misleading assumption that they come in pairs in sellers questions...clearly it is stated three times..that it is a pair. I paid 30 bucks for two sheets of aluminum foil. Thought I was getting two pairs of curtains.
