I finished reading ‘Ashes of Chaos,’ Book 2 of Legacy of the Nine Realms series by Amelia Hutchins and it was FREAKING FANTASTIC 🤩🤩! (FYI, I’m not affiliated with the author, not in the book biz, reading is just a HOBBY, and I’m just a regular reader that is super passionate 💗 about spreading the word on GREAT books!) There are NO spoilers 🙌🏻!Guyyyys 👏🏻👏🏻! I am just SO impressed whenever a second book can be AS GOOD 👍🏻 or BETTER 🙌🏻 than the first! Such a HARD feat for an author to accomplish and Amelia DEFINITELY DID IT 🥳🥳! This continues to be an enemies-to-lovers trope on STEROIDS 😱!! Someone said to me it’s Savage Lands meets the Fever Series… and I have to say, I TOTALLY agree 😁! It’s just so so so good you guys!! It’s LOADED with both tons of ACTION 🤺 and HEAT 🔥! Honestly, I thought the plotline was BEYOND clever 💡! Really, really AMAZING how I stayed FREAKING OBSESSED 😍😍😍 with our ASSH@T of a MMC (hello enemies-to-lovers 👋🏻!) and our KICKA$S 🤺 FMC the entire book! This author led us through a game of CAT 🐱 and MOUSE 🐭 and it was sooooo GENIUS 🤯. Like, this book was SO good that I had to RUN 🏃🏻‍♀️ to AMAZON to buy Book 3 immediately … just HAD to 😅! And pssst 🤫… I can let you in on a little 🤏🏻 secret 🤐 ! I am 20% into Book 3 and it’s ALREADY INCREDIBLE 🙌🏻! I AM A FAN 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!OK ✅!! So some GREAT 🤩 things about this book (without spoilers…EEEK 😬!) This book has one of the MOST TENDER 💞 moments that I have EVER read and it was such a small gesture… TINY 🤏🏻 really… but my heart MELTED 💗 when our FMC laid down, put her face in her palm… and then… our guy… just… awwwww 🥺😍, like I can’t say but so FREAKING MOVING 🥰🥰🥰. I could SEE 👀 it in my head 👩🏻. The two 💞 of them. THERE. In THAT moment. It was just SO touching 💖💖💖. So much so, that I actually started msging friends saying that I was OFFICIALLY SMITTEN 😍 with Knox! Just WOW 🤩 . Amelia, you STOLE my heart ❤️ in that moment! I don’t even know if you meant to 😅! But you totally did 👏🏻. It was SO special and made such a significant impact on me 🥰❤️🥰!So y’all, yes this is an enemies-to-lovers, YES! But what comes with that are all the little snippets of the LOVERS ❤️‍🔥! This is my absolutely FAV 🙌🏻 trope because it takes me on the WILDEST emotional ride 🎢 from ONE minute falling in love 💘 with these characters and the NEXT minute so utterly ANGRY 😡 at them! And I know… I KNOW … it will all work out 💪🏻! (eventually 😂 lol) And that’s how I really enjoy the ride… just knowing that I am HERE 🙋🏻‍♀️ for the DRAMA 🎭! And I KNOW 🧠 & TRUST 🙏🏻 that EVENTUALLY it will all PAY OFF in the BEST 🏆 of ways! And this author makes us BELIEVE THAT 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!OH MY GOSH! And speaking of ANGRY 😡! LET ME TELL YOU!!! I went from the high of being utterly IN LOVE 💘 with Knox to wanting to BARBECUE him ALIVE 😵! Like proper FLAYING people 😆! THIS GUY 🙄😡🥵!!! He is EVERYTHING an ALPHAHOLE should be and I LOVE ❤️ him for it! But mannnnnn… when a certain hair pulling scene in the camp happened, I was like… Boyyyyy you better RUN 🏃🏻 cuz I’m a-comin’ for you and going to take you down 👊🏻👊🏻! HELL NO! NUH-UGH! 😡😡😡 AND!!! Like this is what is AMAZING 🤩 about this series!! The FMC is so BADA$S 🥷 and she gives back 200% what he dishes out 🙌🏻! Her words are like BARBED WHIPS and she HITS HER MARK 🎯… EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 And I am SERIOUSLY sitting here HOOTING 🥳 & HOLLERING 👊🏻 along for the ride! It is SO REFRESHING 💨 to have a FMC just tell it like it is! Yessssssss 👏🏻👏🏻! Cuz you know, she ain’t no captain-save-a-hoe either! 🤣🤣🤣Not to mention her utter KICKA$S 🤺 moments! I mean if the whole RIB 🍖 thing wasn’t the most mouth dropping 😲, BADA$S 🥷moments… like EVER!… how about all those witches keeps?! 😲😲 This girl is BIGGER THAN LIFE and add a PRIMAL creature to the mix… and I am her NUMBER ONE ☝️ FAN!Really, I was so IMPRESSED 😮 with this book! It lived up to its hype and it was sooooo nice to page-turn like CRAZY & be seriously INVESTED in the plot! I imagine authors don’t hear this a lot …but I just want to say THANK YOU 🙏🏻 THANK YOU 🙏🏻 THANK YOU 🙏🏻 for NOT having a romantic HEA yet 🙌🏻! I am TOTALLY HERE 🙋🏻‍♀️ for the PULL & PUSH, the UPs ⬆️ & DOWNs ⬇️ , the HATIN’ 🤬 & LOVIN’ ❤️‍🔥… ALL. OF. This book is again written mainly from Aria’s POV with a chapter here or there from Ember’s or Knox’s POV. We begin to see her monster grow and become a part of herself and we also begin to see her soft exterior crack and refill with cement.This book has the first couple of betrayals from Aria’s family and who she considers friends. We see her mature and grow into a fierce warrior who will not take anything from Knox as well. This book begins to delve deeper into Knox and his hatred towards Hecate and her line and we also begin to see Aria’s reactions to them as well.This book increases the spice 10 fold and we begin to wonder what exactly Aria is and how she can withstand Knox so well. We see him hunt her across the realms and also try to protect her at the same time. Knox’s few chapters open our eyes to his conflict with his beast and his anger at why he cannot separate himself from Aria.Book 2, also takes Aria into some new parts of the realms and we see her begin to enact her master plan that is secret from us. As she travels from place to place we see her begin to collect the elemental powers herself and also begin to break the various curses Hecate put on each monster, being and magic within the 9 Realms.This book is INTENSE and not for the weak of heart. It is dark and toxic and Aria and Knox are two alphas who fight back and forth for the top. This book also creates a divide in them since we begin to see bits and pieces of each one’s master plan for the realms…and boy are the different.Rating: 100/10, welcome to the 9 realms!!

Ok so I had planned to wait for the audio version but I just couldn’t wait lol. I was like a kid on Christmas Eve. I’m so glad I didn’t as this series is shaping up to be one of my all time favourites.We pick up weeks after the end of the last book. For weeks Knox has been chasing and hunting Aria through the Nine Realms. His mark on her always meaning he is just behind her. She is tired and barely getting any rest but still kicking evil ass where ever she goes. She sees just how bad things have gotten in the Nine Realms and we find out the dark witches are beyond evil BUT Aria has no problems making them pay for their crimes in the most delightful and deadly way. All the while her sass and sarcasm levels are off the charts!This is a roller coaster of a story with Aria getting really put through the ringer! That girl is a survivor and I didn’t think it would be possible to hero worship her more! Oh and we meet new characters but no spoilers from me 🤗Does Knox catch Aria??? Haa, you need to read to find out!!! If you are quick this book is on sale on Amazon right now!! This is an epic adventure that can’t be missed. Top marks again 5/5 - straight onto book 3 for me ❤️

I can't even fathom how/where Amelia gets her inspiration as she always comes up with gripping & twisted storylines and AoC was all of that, freaking awesome!!She is a weaver, she brings all the elements together seamlessly, dropping enough breadcrumbs and information as the story unfolds to keep the reader fully engaged whilst building a greater understanding of the storyline and her characters. Amelia paints a fantastically epic picture of the 9Realms, beautifully written. And the emotions OMG as usual she delivers such a wide range of emotional rollercoaster which you experienced throughout the book connecting her readers with her characters.She draws you into Aria's adventures in the 9Realms, her first time ever visit to the realm. Aria is growing and learning so much about herself, her new powers are constantly evolving and she is on the run from Knox. Secrets around her origins are alluded to and new characters come to life! There are so many threads that the storyline can go into and even if she leaves you hanging at the end, you are itching to find out what happens next!Amelia's character building is very heartening, it is not just about being strong all the time but learning how to embrace your strengths as well as weaknesses and making them work in tandem. An important lesson in life.

I say it every time after reading these books...WTF!!!!! The storyline is brilliant I love the world building and the characters are very interesting. However the stupid way the characters converse is staggeringly childish. Long meandering sentences that are so stupid especially when Aria is talking to her creature. Characters appear in the middle of a scene that weren't even mentioned being there!!! It very disjointed and poorly put together. Could easily have been 5 stars but there is a serious lack of the basic understanding of putting words and sentences together that make sense.

I can’t put down into words how absolutely amazing this book is.One of the best books I’ve read. Sincerely a sensational read.Aria is running from the hot as hell Knox. In my opinion she should be running to him. I definitely would. She’s on a mission to right the wrongs of the dark witches and her ancestor.Aria is one badass witch. Oh and something else.Knox is hot on her tails. Watching the destruction she’s leaving behind.He vows he will catch her.Aria vows not.The chemistry and one liners in this book are bloody brilliant.Can’t wait to read Ruins of Chaos

I am disappointed at how little progress there is in terms of plot and relationship development for a second book. I would have expected the interactions between Aria and Knox to have left some inkling of something on the "alpha" male, but he's just abusive and unreasonable. To top it all off, the strong female lead falls for him, despite the constant emotional, mental and physical abuse?!?! I mean.... very disappointing Stockholm syndrome cliché, raised to an unending cycle of repetition. It was very difficult to reach the end of this book. His cruelty to an entire race is not justified in the least, and to still be portrayed as one of the "good" characters is stretching it too far. Also, Aria's "need" always incapacitating her from thinking clearly around males, or conversely, their reaction to her pheromones, is a plot device used to death and way too far fetched to actually be anything but annoying. I am honestly surprised at the amount of 5 star reviews, as I have not mentioned sentence building and editing problems, and there's plenty going on there too. Waaaay to expensive for the content you get. I feel this is the unedited version of something that was written without a proper outline, while the author constantly forgot what she had already done and came back to the "smut" with regularity, as that was the part she enjoyed writing the most. But it was just a rewrite of previous chapters, as the conversation hardly changes and the cycle of abuse follows the same old pattern, somehow ending up being satisfying (for the characters) and not, at the same time. Left me with whiplash every time. Just not worth it.
