A fascinating, interesting and entertaining book for anyone interested in haunted places.
As someone for more than 7 decades has had a voracious appetite for reading and learning I am always seeking interesting, unique and unusual books to read. This is why when I saw this large hardcover 143-page book on Amazon (50 sates: 500 scary places to visit: On the hunt to uncover America's most haunted places) I immediately decided to purchase it.This book covers is filled with photographs showing the most haunted places in each of the 50 states. It includes many historical sites, ghost towns, spooky homes and of course the cemeteries of various states. This is a large table size book and I found it to be a fascinating and entertaining volume. Each photograph gives a brief history of the haunted place, which makes for a very interesting page turning experience.I loved this book and if you have an interest in haunted places in our 50 states you may want to check out this excellent book.Rating: 5 Stars. Perfect for kids who are interested in things that go bump.
The kids at the school love this book. I have to admit the boys grab it first. Although a few girls look over their shoulders.

Not Completely Accurate
Most of the stories in the book were well known. Others known (to me). However what was disappointing to me was when a picture of a sugar mill was identified as the plantation village, a known “haunted” location. Knowing that makes me wonder how many other pictures and locations were also misidentified.

very informative
Planning a trip? This book invites you to travel the U.S. and discover so called "Spooky" places. Would make a bucket list of scary trips and seeing the country. Start in your own state first!

Fun Places to Visit
A family member had this book and many of us had looked through it and wanted our own. At Christmas, two of us received a copy as a gift. We all enjoy looking through it. I saw a few places I have already visited and many that I would like to visit. Book is good quality and worth the price.

Very Poor Effort
This book looks promising from the front cover design, but the contents badly let it down. The design of the contents pages wastes considerable amounts of space, making it look like it was put together by someone with a very limited understanding of print production. It is that poor that only 7 or 8 places are actually written about, with the remaining just mentioned by name only. The information on each allegedly haunted site is usually the briefest of paragraphs and many of the photos appear to have been obtained via the Internet rather than visits by professional photographers or the author themselves. There are many other books that provide much more detail. This book is an opportunity missed.
