This was incredibly easy to put together straight out of the box
This was incredibly easy to put together straight out of the box. All I needed was a pair of scissors to cut the plastic ties holding everything together. The rest of it snaps together quickly - you have to depress the little metal buttons to snap the parts into place, but even with my arthritic fingers I didn't have any problems doing it, or adjusting it up and down after assembly. It is sturdy and moves easily. I am using it to hang and organize lengths of handwoven fabric, which tend to be heavy; the rack is solid with all the parts straight and strong. I recommend it for a functional, strong, heavy-duty and well-designed product. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another.

Great garment rack at half the price
This garment rack by AmazonBasics is well made, strong and well-balanced . It is capable of heavy loads without tipping over. The variable height allows you hang long coats and formal evening wear. Very easy to assemble and disassemble ... no tools required. It is comparable to many high-end racks at half the cost. I have had many other makes of garment racks that simply did not last -- cheap materials (flimsy metal and plastic). The AmazonBasics is the best garment rack I purchased. I am so pleased, this is the second one I purchased.

Cheap. Functional. Minor issues. Mostly easy to assemble. Works as expected. ASIN: B019QTZDB6 Model: AmazonBasics HGF16
AmazonBasics Garment Rack - ChromeSo far the rack appears to work as expected. Cheap, functional. My thoughts:* Easy to assemble with 1 caveat. The "buttons/tabs" on the base you have to depress to connect the poles were difficult enough to press down that it's easy to hurt your hand trying to connect the poles of the base. I had to use a pair of protective gloves to depress the tabs without hurting my fingers from pushing the metal tabs down or catching my skin between the sliding poles. Ultimately, this wasn't a big deal. Wear gloves, no problems.*The top bar of the rack isn't smooth enough for metal hanger hooks to easily slide across, so they grate and make ear-splitting screeching sounds when slid across the top bar. So every hanger has to be lifted and moved, not slid down the bar. My other metal clothes rack doesn't have this problem. I'm considering using a little WD-40 on the top of the rack to see if it alleviates this problem.* The instructions never mention the metal tabs in writing. They're easy enough to follow anyway.* The instructions don't mention the wheel locks.* The instructions don't mention the two metal U-shaped whatever-they-are on one side of the base.I'm sure some people know their purpose.* The extendable poles at the top of the of the rack have metal end caps. This can hurt someone being inattentive or damage a wall if the rack is placed too close to one. These metal end caps really need rubber covers/caps to prevent harm or damage.

Sturdy garment rack a "snap" to assemble!!!!
We needed a temporary set up for our hanging clothes whilst the carpet is taken out. This went together SO EASILY that I think it took longer to open the box and remove the parts than it did to assemble.Side support unfolded, pop on side extension , and pop in top rail...little spring loaded buttons lock it together....maybe two minutes, tops, to go from 0 to 60. It will disassemble easily, too, when our short tern need has ended. This item is well thought out and solidly constructed...sturdy wheels make it easy to move about as needed.

I bought 2 racks to try out and love them. It took us less than 10 min to put the first one together and the 2nd one took less than 5 min. They are pretty sturdy. I have about 60 light to med weight clothes hanging on them. I can add a little more but only put lightweight items on the extended ends. I think this is a good product and wanted to buy 2 more racks but they don't sell this one anymore.

Thanks for my first Amazon assembly injury!
The rack is more difficult to put together than I imagined. It's simply designed so that you're inserting the poll together and locking them with the retractable buttons locking into their designated holes...but OUCH. The retractable buttons are hard to push down far enough to slide under the pole and even to continue sliding the pole until the button reaches it's designated opening to lock. I got through the first attachment unscathed, but the second one pinched my thumb and took some skin off. Do yourself a favor and use a wrench or pliers big enough to fit around the poles to press down these buttons. Amazon either needs to make the buttons easier to push down safely or smooth out the chrome around the openings where to poles fit into each other. The rack doesn't take it's true shape until you finish it--it will stay at weird angles until. Now only time will tell if it holds up. The retractable ends of the hanging rods could be convenient. But does anyone know if there's a good way to re-purpose the U-shape clips on the bottom rack? I assume those were there for packing purposes only, but they could be used for something else.

Definitely a great product
Arrived quickly, way better than I expected. I may order another. All of the pieces came with, and took less 5 minutes to unpackage and put together. It is holding all of my shirts and dresses along with a few other things, doesn't seem like it will break whatsoever. I put a table underneath of it to add a spot to place things. That is something I wish it did have but it is still a great buy

AmazonBasics for the Win!
I have 7 collapsible, rolling garment racks - 3 of them are this exact item. And they are the best of all of them. The so-called high quality (think high priced) racks I bought do not stand up to these. I have had 2 of the more expensive ones tip over or collapse on me more than once when trying to move them. Don't waste your money on the others. This rack is excellent!
