Will the hook hold up using in garment bags and garment suitcases? I ask because I've purchased simular the hooks pull from the wood during travel.

That's because regular hangers are for clothing, not loaded garment bags or suitcases. The garment bags i used in the military had a chain with a hook attached for hanging it up. Look for something like that.

Are these hangers sturdy enough to hang heavy winter clothing such as xxl mens insulated coveralls?

Yes. They are probably better suited for that than regular shirts.

Is the wood fsc certified?

They're made in china. No mention of fsc on or in the box.
