The minimax sump all-in-one media reactor is a novel approach to optimize chemical and biological filtration for aquariums utilizing a sump for filtration. Its innovative patent pending design minimizes the need for flexible tubes, PVC pipes, ball valves, thumb screws, and unnecessary clutter that are usually associated with typical media reactors. Its ingenious design maximizes performance and offers out of the box responsive flow control, easy maintenance, low power consumption, and the smallest of footprints. The versatile minimax sump reactor is designed with an acrylic pedestal and discreetly hides the included pump. The clever adjustable flow indicator dial allows for precise tuning and easy Reference points to min to max flow rates.

IM missed the mark with this product.
I happily own several of the innovative marine reactors, but they missed the mark on this one. I was excited to try the sump version on my small frag tank system. I put in high grade BRS carbon, and let it run. Runs quiet, but after one week, I looked into my sump, and the top had popped off and there was carbon all over the bottom of my sump. I contacted IM and they told me they have had some complaints and asked me to try lowering the water flow. I cut down the flow by 75% and this time it went two weeks before popping the top and puklng carbon all over the sump again. Sent them an email 4 days ago, and zero response. Wish I could return this for a refund, but now past the 30 days.

Will blow its top and ruin your tank !
Blew its top just like many reviews said it would. I even duct taped it shut and still... a huge mess in my tank - $69 wasted on junk. And the resulting mess floating around a tank filled with thousands of dollars of livestock - what a shame - get a different product.

I like this reactor a lot for in the sump applications
I like this reactor a lot for in the sump applications. Plan on replacing the pump in comes with though. Mine completely froze up and is dead after just a year.
