Good Little Walkman
I own two other Sony portable cassette players. I like them both. I added this one to my collection today. Peter Paul and Mary sound great! The earphones supplied with the unit are fantastic. You can hear all the highs and lows. Great auto stop at the end of the tape. Five stars/

Love this Sony and Please NEVER stop making these important little machines!!
For all of us that have great, great cassette tapes (yay analogue!) this Walkman is a must and the sound quality is great with good bass. Hope they NEVER stop making these. Aren't they aware that there are zillions of cassette tapes out there that people are very attached to listening to?? I use when I exercise at the gym Love it!!

This is a really great little cassette player
This is a really great little cassette player. The thing that is rather amazing is that it will play for many, many hours on the same batteries. The sound quality is also quite good. I had one of these many years ago, and at that time, they were available in drug stores for about $15. The price they are selling for now is pretty outrageous, but as they are now a more rare, hard to find item, I guess that is how it is. If you have old cassettes that you want to listen to, like I do, the price might still be worth it.

This machine was a disaster
The thing broke after 3 days. It began to sound like frogs ululating under water. When I first got the machine, it was wonderful. All the great features of Walkman. I tried cleaning the capstan, new batteries, etc. The first 5 minutes are great. After that we get the frogs again. I sent it back to the company (not Amazon.) I have received no reply.

Good quality but beware of the customs fees
Very good product. The problem the customs fees more than 50 euros.

Sony WM-EX2190 Walkman Stereo Cassette Player
It's a collector's item now, and there weren't that many for sale, so I went for this good-as-new used Walkman. $65 for the Walkman itself, $56 for shipping, which delivered it to Customs, where it rattled around for a few weeks before being presented to us with a Customs bill for another EUR 50,- or so. Pretty costly, all in all, but I absolutely had to have a Walkman (replacement for the really old one I wore out).

did the barest minimum
I wanted a personal cassette player because I prefer to listen to books on tape as opposed to CD. I also wanted to listen to the radio now and then. This thing doesn't have a radio, so, OK. Do without. At least it plays tapes. The volume control was very sketchy. Sometimes there would be no change from turning the control knob, other times it would make huge leaps in volume with only one increment. It was hard to adjust it to the level I preferred. And sometimes if I moved around, the volume level would change on its own so I'd have to fiddle with it all over again. But, OK, at least it plays tapes. The headphones broke within a few weeks. But lots of places sell replacement headphones. So OK. At least it plays tapes. But now, after about a year, it quit. No sign that it was going to give out. The tape mechanism spins, but no sound comes out. I tried another pair of headphones, still no sound. So now, it doesn't even do the barest minimum. It didn't last even half as long as the last cassette player I had. I expected a Sony product to last longer, especially for a 3-digit price. Ultimately disappointing.
