Photographic Lighting (Expanded Guides - Techniques) Paperback – May 1, 2015

I was very pleased with this book. Mr. Harrington put together a very clear, concise and attractive package. The book goes over the gear, "science" and the application of photographic lighting quite nicely. It covered a myriad of shooting situations and provided many easy behind the scene photos showing "how to get the look" as well as the finished product.Though I was surprised how small it was at first, I quickly found the advantage of this. It fits into my bag or jacket pocket nicely and is easy to pull out and put away when reading on the subway...I recommend this book to anyone starting out with photographic lighting as well as those who want a nice reference book. That can easily fit in most any camera bag...

I bought the book after taking a one-day training course from the instructor. Great instructor with a nice approach to classroom teaching, great book. He did seem a little too loyal to one of his sponsors who makes flash accessories, but after all he has to put the kids through school. He left a high-paying job to do what he loves and it shows. Look him up, take his class.

Super comprehensive treatment of Photographic Lighting from an accomplished pro who shares a multitude of techniques which allow one at varying levels of competence to quickly jump to the next level or a few steps up.I love the tear out guides in the back as well as the comprehensive discussion of various photographic styles and subjects. Definitely order this book...it's compact and easy to bring w/you on assignment. Barbara Reiner

Very good book for all those wanting to have their first 'dabble' into flash photography without digging in too deep at the start.

This book is very enlightening! If you ever get a chance to take one of his workshops it's an absolute delight! Robert is an excellent photographer and very knowledgeable of Studio and On-Sight lighting techniques and equipment.

First of all FYI everything is for Nikon users (even though Canon flash works pretty much the same way). And I was expecting a little more from that book.

This book packs a lot of solid information on lighting. Everything you need to know is here. It stay in my camera bag as a ready resource. Highly recommend.

I bought this for a gift for a friend studying photography and I enjoyed reading it when he finished!

A great book every (starting) photographer should own. A very clear explanation about lighting wit lots of examples. Love it!
