SwimWays Sea Squirts Life Jacket

My son is 33lbs and about 36" tall and this was awesome. He is a big boy for 2, but sure could hold his own in this life vest. This was only his third time swimming, last 2 with different devices and this was the best he did everything himself, no assitance at all. You can grab them by the fin as they swim and they don't realize you are hanging on to them if you need to.I would highly recommend this. Be sure the little guy has swim shorts on, may get irritation from the strap between the legs. Other than that, it didnt ride up around the neck, just a mild irritation on the neck area. My son swam like a champ with NO assitance what so ever and even proceeded to advance to jumping in the pool.Awesome product and well worth the money. Quality and Appearance A+ in my book.

I purchased this item for my toddler to wear during a recent trip to Florida. The product was much larger than I anticipated. My baby is large for his age 90th percentile in height and 75th for weight...so I tend to worry about items being to small. At 12 months and 26 lbs this was to big...but now that he is 18 months and 30lbs and now the jacket fits great. I would probably purchase this item again for boating or ocean use...but it is a bit heavy and cumbersome for daily use in a pool. I wouldn't purchase this as an aid to help an infant learn to swim...it is bulky... more of a full fledged life jacket.

This life jacket is unsafe if your child fall into the water. I have been boating my whole life have owned May kids life jackets and have never seen one do this before. My son weighs 30 pounds and the jacket fit him really well. He enjoyed having it on. He has been in swim classes for 1year twice a week and can swim a short distance with no life jacket. When we put this jacket on him with all straps secure and adjusted it forces his face under water. Because he likes the water we tried over and over and 100% of the time we had to rescue him because the life jacket rolled hi to his stomach and raise his back which put his head under water. Please be safe when you do buy a life jacket test it before you go boating.

The color is very bright, and eye catching. I wish the fin was removable since my toddler likes to try to swim and likes to be held in the pool and it's a pain to hold him with the fin. So we end up taking the jacket off and on several times while swimming which is a hassle. Because of the fin it doesn't fit well into any bag with our towels and takes up quite a bit of space on our drying rod. Because of the fin the jacket tends to want to float my son on his face, which is what we were trying to avoid. It fits very snuggly and sometimes it is very hard to zip up over his tummy.

This is an ok product..my son doesn't float well in this at all...it always tips him to the side...not very impressed due to the price...

We recently purchased this life jacket for our granddaughter as one of her birthday presents. We own a boat and go to the beach often so we figured we wanted the little one in something safe. This pfd could not have been a better choice. To begin with, it is absolutely adorable on her. The best thing about it is that it holds her in a perfectly upright position. She is able to move around with complete freedom. The fin on the back is an extra addition that puts this life jacket over the top. The jacket has the strap between the legs to insure that it stays in the correct position. Never have any trouble getting her to wear this since she seems to love it as much as we do. When she first got the jacket, she even wore it around the house. Would absolutely recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a jacket for a young child.

Purchased for use at pool and beach for (almost) 2-year-old grandson. Because he likes the Nemo theme and backfin, he wears it happily--unlike the vests purchased previously for him (at least four of them)!Note to parents: Swimways also makes a thinner vest (not Coast Guard certified) but meant for use as a swimming aid only. The thinner vest has floatation pads that can be removed one at a time as the child gains confidence in the water. Big brother wore this slimmer variation (blue dolphin style) without complaint for two summers straight. Even though he's swimming on his own this summer (age 4) he likes to play "shark" and continues to wear the vest voluntarily at least half the time he's in the pool! I'll definitely be looking for another Swimways vest when little brother graduates to the slimmer version next summer.

Very easy to get on and my toddlers will use them because they look cool. They are a bit bulky for just sitting around the pool, though.
