Great iron.
My family loves that this iron adjusts to the type of material that's being ironed. There is no need to keep turning buttons to get the right adjustment.

Not worth the money
I hate to put a bad review for Rowenta, given they are usually good irons, but that is not the case here. The no dial feature does not work for cottons and linens, since the iron does not get hot enough to iron out wrinkles. I am guessing that is why it doesn't get very hot, so not to burn the delicates. It can be used as a steamer, which I will try. I was unable to return since I waited too long and my return window has expired. I am looking to get rid of it, but for now will keep for a back up or steam iron. Not worth the purchase, if you iron often.

Pretty good iron
This is an early review, so my opinion might change over time, as I experience using this iron with different kinds of fabric. I also can’t say anything about durability.I nearly passed on this iron thanks to so many negative reviews about “Rowent Steamcare iron “not producing enough heat and taking forever to iron clothes, hence being safe on any kind of fabric”.But I’m a big fan of tech and out of curiosity decided to give it a try, taking the “intelligent” feature with a grain of salt. What I can say is that, being a gimmick or not, it does a good job on my cotton shirts. It does not take forever and it does not feel underpowered. Please note that I’m talking about the charcoal colored Rowenta Steam Care ( DW 3182). Most negative reviews are about the blue Rowenta Steam Care (DW 3180). Strangely, they’re not only different in color. After some digging, I found out that the charcoal model has 300 holes on it’s soleplate, while the blue model has 350. So, internally, they are different. For some reason, the charcoal model is more expensive everywhere I saw it ( Amazon and Target). I also think its unfair to believe that the models built in China are of inferior quality. A model made in Germany may be more expensive for the sole fact that the trade rules in between USA-China are not the same as USA-Europe, and you might just be paying extra in taxes. What ot matters most is good engineering and rigid quality control.I guess people also ignore the user manual because, “ seriously, who needs a manual to operate a steam iron?” i’ve done it before. In fact, the manual tells all the little things you can do to avoid all the undesired results people complain about on reviews.1- Turn the steam all the way down to dry and empty out the water reservoir after each use. That simple. Store it dry. No leaks and no gunk coming out of the iron and staining your clothes next time you use it. There’s more in the Tap water than just water, and that can acumulate over time inside your iron.

Too weak to iron jeans
Update: after 1 month I found this unit to be lacking in power and there is no temperature adjustment control for this model. I decided to again buy another 1750 watt unit which is up to my standards.

COOLEST IRON EVER
This is the coolest Iron I ever used. You just Plug and Iron. There isn't a temperature dial, the irons sets the temperature and steam that works on every type of fabric! It's amazing. It didn't create a shine or burn a thing. Best Technology ever! Way to go Rowenta!

Good For A While. Newer Model Better
I am on my third dw3182 Rowenta steam care iron. They don't last very long. They have faulty auto shut offs. I have a newer model and it works fine.
