Sourdough book for beginners. Everything you need to know and easy to follow.
The book is fantastic. Unfortunately pages 24 to 48 were missing so I had to sent it back for a replacement. Hopefully the replacement book will be complete

The science of sourdough
I dabbled with sourdough some years back with mixed results. Since buying the Sourdough Whisperer and following Elaine's simple, fool proof instructions I'm delighted with my results. My starter took 7-8 days to reach its active status (my kitchen is barely 17C), and since then there's been no turning back. It quietly sits in the fridge waiting to be fed. The science of sourdough is fascinating and this book explains everything in a clear and concise manner. Yes, I've over-proofed and under-proofed but that hasn't affected the taste of the finished loaf or diminished my enthusiasm. Each experiment is a learning curve and I've not been disappointed with my efforts. Today's sourdough rolls were superb - well risen, soft and bouncy and so easy to make. It's a joy to read this wonderful book time and again. Sourdough is a science that shouldn't be rushed. Follow Elaine's expert advice and you won't go wrong.

Best book ever for success everytime
Having many sourdough books this one by Elaine Boddy is by far the superior. Bread is absolutely perfect. She takes you from creating the starter with copious amounts of instruction and information to ridiculously good recipes. The challenge is to fail ! :-)

Book incomplete
WARNING - do not order this great book from Amazon until someone there reads the reviews and has the nous to pull this book and return it to the publishers and re-order fully complete copies. Two copies received now and two will be returned. Both books have duplicate pages and pages missing. It’s a great book, well written, easy to follow instructions and helpful photos, such a pity you can’t send me the whole book!

Don't whisper, shout! Great bread
I have been bread making for several years and decide it was time to venture into sourdough. There are so many recipes and processes that are all slightly different! I had a number of 'almost right' loaves but the success rate wasn't good enough. This book has changed everything! Perfect, hassle-free sourdough.Who knew that keeping 100g of starter was enough? Preheating oven and pans isn't necessary! Dry excess starter and keep for the future. Don't discard starter! The step-by-step directions and pictures are perfect and the mystery of sourdough becomes a calm process towards great bread. An entertaining read while eating some toasted sourdough.

Great
Initially felt underwhelmed due to print error. Duplication of 24 pages. Whilst that may seem a positive rather than a negative it initially gives a bad impression and am glad this was not a gift. The book however is filled with great information and am eager to see how things go once I delve deeper into the book.
