Check out the Youtube channel “Guns and Guitars.” He installed a Floyd Rose on a Strat. That’s the one i started with. Take your time, be patient. Even after you install it proprerly, you may find your neck needs to be raised, shimmed, and fret-leveled to accommodate the unusual size of the Floyd Rose. I’m still working on & refining my guitar and learning new things. It’ll be finished after this weekend, but it took about a good month to get to this point.

Will it fit a fender strat?

Not likely, but it depends on the original bridge. Some had Bennders and some had Floyd's and some had Bennders with a Floyd licensing patent. The post on my Bennder were about a millimeter too narrow

I have a Yamaha pac 812s with a broken and lost tremolo bridge, and just want a temp fix, would this fit?

More than likely. You might have to swap the block because this one is a little short. As for the bridge plate itself it will fit anything that's a floyd type of design.
