Wild price but still worth it
I upgraded from a 2009 Canon 7D to a 2024 Canon EOS R50 and I was unaware Canon uses “RF” lenses now. Obviously the 50mm lens is a legend but the price point is kind of insane. Like the AF-mount 50mm lens is like $160. I know the RF lenses have a lot more technology in them but being 3x the price of its predecessor is wild. Otherwise I still feel like it’s worth it. Only con is the price, everything else is amazing like usual.

UK version
I gave the lens one star so that it might catch someone’s attention if they find themselves in the same situation that I did. I saw this lens on here and I couldn’t figure out why it was $40 or $50 cheaper than elsewhere on Amazon site. I couldn’t find any differences until after I bought the lens. It’s a different model number than the US version. The box seemed a little bit banged up but I didn’t think much of it. It’s really strange that it came with a USA and Canada warranty card and Canon accepted my online registration of the lens. So I don’t know if it was returned to Canon or returned to Amazon or how it got a US warranty card. Had I known, I probably would’ve spent the extra money to get the US version just for peace of mind. The lens itself is well worth the money, I just don’t know why Amazon is selling this on the US website with a UK model number. Doesn’t make any sense.
