Comparison of 5 Brands: Samsung, 3Active, Epson, ValueView, Panasonic, 3DHeaven
Comparison of 6 Brands: Samsung, 3Active, Epson, ValueView, Panasonic, 3DHeavenTested all glasses on Espon 2040 and Epson 3500Darkness: from darkest to lightest (note: difference from one end to the other is marginal, but definitely noticeable): Samsung/3Active, Epson/ValueView, Panasonic/3DHeavenCrosstalk: from least to most (note: this is looking straight through the lens, looking at an angel introduces crosstalk in different ways – crosstalk is only noticeable in extreme contrast situations – and is otherwise rarely noticed): Samsung/3Active, ValueView/Epson, Panasonic, 3DHeavenComfort: from most to least (note: only 3Active bothered me): Panasonic/3DHeaven/Samsung/ValueView/Epson, 3ActiveLens size: from biggest to smallest (this doesn’t really impact viewing in my experience): ValueView, Epson/Samsung/3Active, Panasonic/3DHeavenPrice: from least to most: Panasonic, Samsung, ValueView, 3DHeaven, 3Active, EpsonMy recommendation:For the price, if you are going to get a few: the Panasonic and Samsung will give you good value and you get the option of brightest image or least crosstalk. I find that I like the brighter image more, but on the occasions that you are noticing crosstalk, the Samsungs are nice because they pretty much annihilate it. If you want something in the middle (medium brightness and medium crosstalk in one package), then I recommend the ValueView. I see no benefit to the 3D Heaven glasses because they have the most crosstalk of them all and are not brighter than the Panasonics and are more than double the price. The Epsons are pretty good performers, just like the ValueViews but are over double the price, and are over quadruple the price of the Panasonics and Samsungs. The 3Active are not comfortable and perform exactly like the Samsungs at more than twice the price. At the end of the day I use the ValueView and Espons (which I got with my projector) the most, but use the Samsungs a bunch too. My wife likes the Panasonics the most because of brightness.More detailed review of all glasses below:(2x Pair) Samsung Rechargeable 3D Active Glasses, BlackSSG3300GRhttp://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Rechargeable-Active-Glasses-Black/dp/B004PYEBZ2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00Darkness: Like the 3ACTIVE glasses, these are tied as darkest of them all – slightly more blue than red/green color tooCrosstalk/Ghosting: Like the 3ACTIVE glasses, these are tied having the least crosstalk of them all (I assume the darkness means the shutters are open for less time, which equals less crosstalk)Comfort: Relatively comfortable – medium sized lens – they are the only pair that do NOT foldOperation: I found these to be the most annoying with no on/off switch – they always worked, but I can’t tell if the battery is draining or not all the time – it seems that bending the frames as you place them on your head turns them on and that they just time offPrice per pair: $20Adult Epson ELPGS03 3D Glasses 3D Heaven Rechargeable Compatible 3-D GlassesUltra-Clear HDhttp://www.amazon.com/ELPGS03-Glasses-Heaven-Rechargeable-Compatible/dp/B00GVLL8DK?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpageDarkness: These are tied with the Panasonic as the brightest most red and green allowed throughCrosstalk/Ghosting: These have the most crosstalk of them allComfort: They are pretty comfortable with a nice surface finish – lens is smallOperation: No problems – time offPrice per pair: $40EPSON-Compatible ValueView® 3D Glasses. Great alternative!
Good build quality glasses that linked up with my Epson 5030UB. I auditioned both my Epson V12H548006 and the 3Active glasses. I couldn't find any differences in image quality. Image was projected on a 114" Carada brilliant white screen. Setting was THX 3D on High lamp setting. Now on to the comfort of the 3Active glasses with perscription glasses on a larger framed head. I would fairly say the 3Active glasses are a little tighter on the temples and stand out a little further from eye wear to 3D glasses reflecting a slight glare. The Epson glasses fit like they have more give outward for a little more comfort and extra room to accommodate glasses. My personal opinion would be that these glasses would fit perfectly for the medium size to slightly large size heads with or without perscription glasses. The glasses will serve a better purpose on my kids and wife's frame. I will continue using my Epson glasses due to my larger frame with prescription eye wear. Now let's talk about the free case and accessories. Not to thrilled about the case compared to the case I just purchased for my Epson glasses from another company. It was free but talk about night and day differences between this case and the other that I paid $17.95. The two Power cords are just long enough to sit on a counter to charge. The clean cloth looks and feels like any other eye wear cloth on the market. Over all the glasses are priced well for my needs. I will purchase the glasses again if I require more. Cheers!!!

Works great with minor issue
I have 4 pairs of these glasses, I use them with an Epson 3700 and am impressed with how well they work. I have noticed a minor issue with all 4 pairs however, causing me to lower my rating from 5 stars. When they pair with the projector and you see the pairing box on the screen it reports the battery is at 75% even when they were charged until the charging light went off and I even left then on charge for an additional 2 hrs for a total over 4 hrs. The battery still showed 75% after watching 3 movies. Very strange! Also, no way to adjust the fit and they do slip down when worn over prescription glasses.UPDATE. (revised to 4Stars. I contacted Dimensional Optics about the battery issue. This is their response:The battery indicator on your projector is designed for Epson OEM glasses. As Epson uses a different battery with less capacity, the battery indicator is not accurate with respect to 3ACTIVE 3D Glasses. The lithium-ion batteries used in premium 3ACTIVE glasses are much more powerful and have a 30 hour battery life. On a full charge, the glasses will allow you to watch 12-15 two hour movies. Once the battery is fully depleted, the LED light will flash blue/red continuously. I would recommend that you charge the glasses once a month and/or as needed.

These work just fine! I have noticed the ghosting folks talk about
These work just fine! I have noticed the ghosting folks talk about, or "cross talk" I watched Thor in 3D and it never did any ghosting or cross talking. Jurassic world did not do it much either. One of the avenger movies did it more but only in high contrasting scenes but never annoying to the point it bothered me. I would of never known it if i have not read about ghosting with 3D. I've noticed ghosting at therater 3D before too. I think its just a by product of 3D. I watch one 3D movie and it was horrible in 3D, almost like it was not really shot in 3D, it was liek they cut pieces out and moved them closer and further to give the perception fo 3D but it lacked depth. All the blockbusters I've watched that were shot in imax 3D are perfect.Using these on a Epson Home Cinema 4000 HDR Full HD 3LCD Home Theater Projector
