how to remove camera lens protector?

Disclaimer that I'm no expert and have only used the product once but my initial attempt at placement was a little off so I lifted the camera protector back off starting at one end getting under it with a knife edge careful to avoid scratching the phone and then repositioning it.

does camera lens protector affects images quality by any chance?
