My husband received this for Christmas and boy was he ecstatic! I am pregnant so I am not consuming alcohol but he made gin for New Years Eve to celebrate with our family and it received raving reviews. He followed the directions but also tapped into his creative side and it turned out really tasty. My husband is now investing in labels, more bottles, and naming all of his different gins. Planning to save bottles for our children for their special occasions. He was especially impressed it only took 48 hours to make!When our Package first arrived the Juniper berries were missing. I contacted the seller and they sent out a new spice kit in addition to extra juniper berries. They gave excellent customer service and sent out the replacement promptly in addition to their regrets!This is simply a great product!!

I now can make my own gin for my Martinis from this kit. Being able to customize the flavors from the amount and number of botanicals I want is a really attractive feature. Seriously, who can fine-tune their whiskies or beers like you can with your own gin?I recommend it to anyone who likes gin.I bought a bottle of Smirnoff to go with it because even though the directions say a crappy bottle of vodka is all you need, I thought I'd go all out.I decided to also buy one for my sister who is now getting into gins. She loves having dinner parties so imagine how fun will it be for her to make and share her own concoctions!The strainer/funnel makes the whole process easy, and having two bottles (also included) makes it easier to play with the mix to fine-tune your blend. I STRONGLY recommend making your first batches small batches so that you don't make a large batch mistake of making a lot of something you don't like.With the holidays coming I can see a LOT of people having fun with these kits!

Bought this for my wife’s birthday. We had a great time learning about and making Gin. The info cards made it Super Simple to read and understand the ways to make some basic types of Gin and within 24 hrs we had great Gin with Friends.If they would allow customers to have 2 kit options, when ordering, I would have opted to eliminate the flask and pre printed labels. Instead give more of the herbs. One recipe requires that you buy and ingredient not supplied in package. But overall, loved it and will likely get again for another gift.

We just recently start d experimenting in making our own spirits, and the Gin kit from DIY Gift Kits is AWESOME! What a clever gift! It comes with two glass bottles, funnel, a flask and a very educational (for beginners) packets of herbs along with clear instructions and different recipes. We’re having a lot of fun creating (and tasting!) the results. It only takes about 48 hours per batch, so we started with two differently flavored batches so we could compare side-by-side. I learn and remember much better when I can make it myself, this is the perfect gift!

I received an infusion kit for Christmas, but noticed that for the same price I could have this one (which can clearly be used for general infusion as well as making gin). This kit is a much better value because: 1) the instruction card is awesome, 2) comes with 6 botanicals for gin. The instruction card has 4 general recipes with a "flavor wheel" for experimentation, which I really appreciate. (the infusion kit came with a general book - nothing about how to use the elements of the kit specifically). The set of botanicals lets you make 2 of the 4 general recipes. I made the "Basic & Traditional" recipe the day after I got it and it was ready two days later. I was quite pleased with the flavor! Seemed actually less harsh than many gins I've had. My only difficulty was straining my batch into the other bottle with the provided funnel and filter. The filter gets clogged quickly and the funnel does not hold much, so it needs to be emptied several times while doing the pour. However, even without the funnel this is an awesome value. (The bonus flask is cool too!)

I got this as a birthday present for my brother-in-law who loves gin. It was a hit for the party. It's a quality set in a cute presentation - exactly as pictured. He hasn't made any gin with it yet, but I'll post an update when I hear about the results.

Interesting kit learned quite a bit. However they did not include enough of the main ingredient to make two batches. Had to drive to the store to get more. Also for the price I feel like could have included a better funnel and strainer.

I have been interested in crafting my own spirits for several years, but it always seemed so difficult. This gin making kit simplifies the process. It includes everything you need except the vodka. The instructions are super easy to follow! I love the fact that the instructions give you different flavor options (piney, floral, traditional, or bold) and guides you to the spices and seasonings to get the flavor you want. This also makes a very nice gift as it is beautifully presented.
