Surprisingly great value; holding up well after several fishing trips
Context: I fish mostly for bass, crappie, and smaller species (freshwater only). I run braided line and have this reel on an Okuma lightweight rod. At the time of this review, I have fished four times with good results.Pros:+ affordable and reliable reel+ has held up well after reeling in 30 bass (yes, 30! I had a fisherman's dream morning on this reel pulling in 20 bass on one trip.)+ looks sleek; there is something about the chrome and red that makes this pop just a little bitCons:+ none at this point...I will update in a few months if any issues come up

Not a bad reel at all
I have two other Okuma spinning reels (Avenger ABF Baitfeeders) on my catfish rigs and love them. I was looking for an inexpensive, nice-looking reel to pair with a 7-foot Ugly Stik and stumbled across this new style of Okuma's Ignite series. After using it a couple of weekends I can say it's not a bad reel at all for the price. It's maybe not as smooth as I'd like but what do you expect for well under $50? It looks good, it's not as heavy as some of Okuma's other low-priced offerings (my ABFs are bricks compared to this thing), the drag works well, the ratio is decent, and it holds plenty of line in a 40-series size. My only real complaint is that nothing about this reel stands out in the very crowded under-$50 spinning reel segment. Go to Walmart or Bass Pro and you'll see what I mean. My main reasons for choosing this particular reel were the combination of good looks, low price, and experience with other Okumas. If that works for you then give it a try.

Very smooth
Nice reel! Bought for my son but have found myself using quit often when he is not on it. Have landed a few decent size trout with it. Amazing reel especially for the price.

Fresh water fishing only lasted a year
Not sure what happened... possibly manufacturer defect. The bearing that sits above the needle bearing was dry. The needle bearing were packed with grease but the other was not. It was faintly rusted and not spinning. I have one reel from another manufacturer that is over 30 years old. I know of take care of my fishing gear.

Seems really nice out of the box - actually looks better than a lot of much more expensive reels I have. I'll update once spooled up and fished with but looks like it will be a perfect ultralight set-up.

Great… but fragile?
I used this reel for 2 months and loved it. One day when climbing out of the truck I dropped it and the handle broke. I’ve dropped many reels and never seen such a thing, sad day.

Great reel for the money
This real has far surpassed my expectations. I have it in both the 40 and 10 size. I really like the 10 for my ultra light rod. I loaded it with 6lb braid and it casts amazing. Nice drag too! I've landed several 3-4lb trout with ease on this reel. I'm slowly switching many of my spinning reels to okuma for the high price to qualify ratio.
