Love Kelty gear!
I will admit I'm biased because I love Kelty gear. But, this tent is great. I know it's not a 4 season tent, but I used it this winter anyway. And just so nobody gets the wrong idea, I don't recommend this for winter camping. I bought the Gunnison 2 .I'm 5'10" and with my Klymit Static V Luxe Sleeping Pad I had a few inches from the walls above my head and at my feet. I had plenty of room to keep my external frame pack inside the tent with me. I own quite a few tents, but none have 2 doors so I thought I would try one that had them. The extra door is nice! And the double vestibules are handy as well. The tent set up fast and easy, I really like the color coded straps for the rain fly. It's not ultralite by any means, but I can't justify the price increase for a pound of weight saving. The poles are nice, and like other aluminum poles I've used slide together easily and break down fast. The included footprint is a nice little bonus. I recommend getting the gear loft, it makes keeping things organized a lot easier. But just FYI with the loft in I had to hunch over a little when sitting up, without it i could sit up fine. Zippers are good quality and the mesh is heavy duty. I really like how one of the vestibules can be turned into a little sitting area in warmer weather. I can't wait to use this next spring. I did use this in a snowstorm, once again it isn't a 4 season tent, I tend to sleep hot so I've never bought a 4 season tent. I can't say enough about kelty gear and this tent is another great buy.

Outstanding quality, some not so functional design elements
I’ve recently upgraded from my Kelty Grand Mesa 2 which has served me well for over 10 years. Since it’s been that long since my last new tent I decided to look at what design upgrades Kelty has come up with over that time as well as take the opportunity to upgrade to a four-person given I plan on having this for the next 10+ years. I landed on the Gunnison 4.Overall, I’m very pleased with the quality and design. Here’s my breakdown:5 Stars:*Weather – My first time using this tent I experienced torrential downpours and heavy winds. I purposely did not lay down an additional tarp like I usually do and only used the footprint provided to really see what this thing is made of. The tent held up great and there were no leaks.*Size - The headroom and space is great. Like most tents, it could sleep the advertised number of people, but only comfortably sleeps one less. In this case, it’s great for three people. I have a full-size air mattress and my dog. We had plenty of room for the mattress and more than enough space to keep my pack inside the tent.*Airflow – With the two entryways, this tent can easily be vented. There’s also two vents at the top that I kept open and even with the downpour, I stayed bone dry.*Set up: The hug clips are brilliant and couldn’t be easier to help erect the tent. There’s no pass-throughs or funky angles which is great. It’s really straight forward and easy for one person to set up. All three components come together nicely at the four corners and plenty of stakes and ties are provided.4 Stars:*Packability – It’s a larger tent so it’s expected to be a bit bulkier come time to break down and pack up. I’m usually breaking the tent down alone so I find it difficult for one person to manage while still satisfying his/her OCD when it comes to neatly packing and storing gear. But again, it’s a much bigger tent than one person needs and I assume the majority of the time, two people will be tackling this task.3 Stars:*Poles - I like the idea of having one attached pole for more complicated tent frames, but with this simple x-shaped set-up I find it unnecessary and difficult to break down. You are constantly battling with the one pole while trying to break down the other. Maybe I’ll get used to it, but for now, I hate it.*Fly – I was attracted to design of the awning you can set up using hiking poles. But, it’s a bit of a pain. Hiking poles aren’t usually very long and therefore don’t provide a lot of height for the awning. It’s nice when you’re in the tent, but I find myself having to pass through what seems like a tunnel to get in/out. If you don’t want to use the awning, the opening on the other side of the tent is a more traditional entry. Lastly, the angles of the fly when fully deployed don’t provide much of an area to keep gear. It’s just me and the pup so no big deal, but for others camping/hiking with a group, this could be an issue.*Door – One of the doors has a quick-stash door pocket. In theory, this is great. In reality, it’s not as practical as you may think. The door can easily get hooked on gear or you and be pulled out of the pocket and get in the way. I ended up spending just as much, if not more, than if it were a traditional roll up.

Plenty of room for 2 people.
I have done some test setups in my home and yard. I will be taking this out in a few days on a bear hunt. There is still snow but melting where we will be. I am expecting nights to be 15-20 degrees. As most tents rated for 3 people it fits 2 comfortably. I liked the amount of headroom this had for this design of a tent.It all fit back in the bags easily. I ordered extra stakes Kelty Y-Stake (Pack of 6) and an overhead gear loft. Kelty Tent Gear Loft These both also fit easily in the bag.Having two doors makes things more comfortable. Also having two vestibules for your bags is great. It is nice that the footprint is included I wish the footprint was a bit bigger so that your gear could go on the footprint under the vestibule.I will update this after my trip this next week.

Wanted to love it....
This tent has some cool features-I like the vestibule that converts to a “porch” for a little extra protected space, and the wall to mesh ratio. However I found the fly-to-tent and tent-to-ground connections to be awkward, cheaply made, and vulnerable to tearing. It made me feel insecure that something could easily snap or fray and I would end up unable to secure my fly. Overall quality not as I expected from Kelty. So disappointed....will have to send it back.

GREAT TENT!! Already put to the test!
I purchased this tent for a camping trip with my daughter's class. (4) 4th Graders used and abused this tent for three days in the rain and mud and it stayed super dry! It was one of the only tents to stay dry. I really LOVED having to vestibules and two doors. They could easily split their items under the rainfly vestibules to stay dry. I also like that the rainfly goes down to the ground, really giving good coverage in the rain. It was super easy to put up, the kids did it themselves in minutes. I would HIGHLY recommend this tent!!! I'm thinking of buying another one for future class camp trips because a few of the other folk's tents took on lots of water and that was a whole mess of its own! I am very happy with this tent!!

Watch Out For The Wind
All the poles broke during a strong wing storm, and ripped through the sides.
