Fjällräven Re-Kånken Emerald One Size

I purchased this to use as a backpack purse and maybe even for school (I'm in high school) last May. I used it for school to break in the bag a little bit and fell in love with it. Every year since middle school, I've ended up purchasing a new bag for school because I never like the bag I'd buy, and this is the first bag I've really loved. The fabric is softer than the classic kanken and doesn't irritate me (it's very rare I find items that don't itch or are too rough/uncomfortable). The fabric is fairly durable but less water-resistant than the regular kanken-line's. The fabric has begun to pill a little, but I guess that could be compared to the classic kanken getting scratches and beginning to fade a bit after continued use. Overall, I love this bag and intend to keep using it as a purse, and maybe for school too, although I'll probably purchase the laptop kanken for the extra pocket and built-in padded straps, even though the thin straps don't bother me much.

The backpack is beautiful and such a wonderful color . Unfortunately when I ordered it I accidentally Ordered the full-size version . Amazon has made things very simple to return the full size backpack in exchange for the mini size ,that’s more suitable for my needs ( I wanted more of a purse style )I look forward to the mini and using it as my every day purse ... yippie!!!Thanks Amazon for being so user friendly!Aloha & mahalo

Oh man, this little backpack is something else.I’m a neurodivergent person who needs to have things with me. I need a lot of preventative tools to keep myself from getting overwhelmed with life.I love to have a planner at all times… I also love to have an emotional journal… but I also need a reflection / daily journal… but I also am working on this book so that’s gotta come with me. Wait… but I draw. I need to bring my iPad with me and my pencil… pencils oh crap I need my pencil bag with my tools in it! Tools… omg my sensory stuff! A little jar with earplugs and chapstick and hair ties and sound dampeners. What about my meds? I need those in case I panic…. Omg and my phone cords…. AghhhhEnter this bag.Everything fits like a little desk - it could truly do with an organizer insert to be most efficient, but I put my smaller items in a pencil bag and it works like a charm.Very sturdy, straps could be more comfy but the weight distribution with Kankens takes care of that for me at least. And it’s recycled! Ahhh! Icing on the cake.Can’t wait to wear it in over the next years. (:

My daughter wanted this backpack - it is on trend for teenagers. I have to say that it has held up well and I have put it in the washing machine a few times (hang to dry). I wish they made a much bigger size for her books.

My son absolutely loves this backpack. It fits perfectly for his shoulders, and holds everything he needs for school. The color is bright, and exactly as pictured.I highly recommend!

Love it's recycled, love the color, very durable, but the worst straps ever! I bought this for convention for work and first day walking around all day, not lugging too heavy stuff, the thin unpadded strap cut a welt in my neck. Today I thought I'll give to another try and gave it to my son to carry few books and the same thing happened, it cut into his neck on both sides. I'm hoping to sell it for at least half the value I bought it for.
