The adjustable resistance ranges from easy, yet effective for warming up
The SideWinder Pro XTREME is a refined and effective tool for developing forearm and grip strength. The adjustable resistance ranges from easy, yet effective for warming up, or for beginners with insufficient strength, to, at least for now, impossible. I purchased the #2 mode,l and found the maximum resistance, though difficult; I was capable of turning, and knew it was not adequate for the optimum level of strength I am seeking. Yes, initially, and now, to a lesser degree, after several days, I noticed that the rubber like handles imparted some very small particles on my hands. With continued use, this issue is way less noticeable. There is a truly, and insignificant degree of discoloration on the palms of my hands; believe me, this is not a real issue. This is barely worth mentioning, but for the fact that some customers have highlighted this minor issue for an exercise tool. Trust me, as one customer suggested, there is absolutely no bad smell on one's hands, only the slightest rubber like smell, if and only if you smell your hands.Yes, initially, you will see some very small particles on your hands, and a little discoloration, which, I’m finding abate with time. Now I see absolutely no little black particles after several uses. Please, get real; this is an exceptional and solid exercise tool. Don’t miss out on the most effective exercise tool for developing forearm and grip strength because some customers harbor insignificant issues. It is a state of the art instrument for developing strength. Of course, said issues should be acknowledged, and anticipated, and said customers are genuinely helpful. I have always used, and still use handgrips, (Captains of Crush now), with great benefit, but this tool is amazing, and can effect a greater range of muscles that any handgrips. It’s all about what you’re trying to achieve. I highly recommend this exercise tool. The moment you pick up this tool, you’ll be sold. It’s incredibly solid and functional. I have spent years looking for something like this. I had and loved a lesser version of this style of exercise apparatus. Only on Amazon did I eventually find it. Try it, you’ll love it and keep it, if in fact strength training is your goal, as well as definition, and muscular growth. Pricy, perhaps, but a lifetime guarantee; and it is a weighty, solid, and well engineered tool.Look, Amazon asked me to review my recent purchase of this impressive product. So I took the time, and made the effort to impart my actual experience and impressions of this valuable tool. If you’re reading this, I give the product my highest recommendation.

Nothing else like it! So glad I found it
This is a VERY well-designed product that oozes quality. It is larger than I expected; looks something like an Olympic torch or light saber from Star Wars. It's clear they used high quality components and it operates very smoothly. I honestly thought it a bit overpriced when ordering, but it was so unique and specific to the training I wanted to do that I proceeded. I am so glad I did. Upon opening it and trying it, at first I thought it wasn't difficult enough as I was able to rotate it on the highest level. I was definitely wrong about that, my forearms have never been worked this hard. The pump you get from this is amazing. Even after one set of ten reps in each direction my forearms were bulging out, it's a rather euphoric sight. The lowest setting of resistance is VERY easy so don't hesitate to order this one vs the lesser models; you can buy this and progress as you go, trust me. The interesting thing about the resistance is that on a given resistance setting if you turn slowly it seems relatively easy. If you rotate it quickly in a very determined, focused manner it is MUCH harder to turn. It's almost as though the resistance isn't linear, but ramps up the harder you rotate it. I do eventually see myself mastering this device and needing more resistance, but that is a LONG time off. At present they don't offer a higher model with more resistance, but that's OK. Honestly once I've conquered this and can do multiple high rep sets in quick succession I have no doubt I will have reached a world class level of forearm strength. In my lifetime I've tried just about every kind of grip enhancing device and forearm workout tool; nothing else compares to this device it is as close to perfect for this type if training as you can get. I highly recommend using this in conjunction with pro grade handgrip training equipment such as Captains of Crush for a well rounded workout. You can't properly utilize forearm strength without strong hands; sort of like a high torque car motor is of no use without a good set of tires to put it down to the ground. In fact, if on a tight budget starting out I'd buy COC grippers first, say a 0.5 or 1.0. Master that for a while and then add in the Sidewinder. My fitness goal with this equipment is to improve my competitive pistol shooting and I have no doubt I'm on the right path with this combination. There is also a huge psychological factor to having visibly strong forearms and hands and a solid grip during a handshake. It may sound infantile, but it is true that men instantly judge one another and respect other men who convey strength during a handshake. No, not try to crush the other guys hand, that truly is infantile and works against you. Rather just a firm solid grip and solid eye contact is a requirement if you want to instantly start off a sales call or meeting on the right foot. I know of many well qualified job interviewees and salesmen who are not successful because they don't understand this age old truism. Women also subliminally judge a man by his perceived strength and particularly the strength of a man's hands and forearms. Trust me, having big biceps but weak hands is not impressive and is not real world usable strength. No matter what your overall size or strength goal always work on the foundation: legs, hands/forearms, and core. The rest will fall into place and focusing on those things will give you a solid, usable level of strength and prevent injuries now and down the road. Kettlebell and sandbag training are perfect ways to get that foundation. One of the hardest things with both of those is you need good grip strength while using them and that's where this product can really raise your game. Best of luck to you in pursuing your own goals!
