Osprey Packs Comet Daypack

New Comet arrived!Sentinel Grey is a nice, dark grey, interior is kind of a khaki green - classy for office use, not eye catching, but has the look of a high quality bag. The usual Osprey zipper pulls are nice, and present on all pockets.Build quality is high, as usual with Osprey. The pack is large-ish at 30L, it feels plenty big for lots of books, files, accessories, chargers, etc without feeling cumbersome or unwieldy. So far - it doesn't feel like I'm carrying a monster bag around.The straps are very cushioned. I would like to have seen a slightly wider hip-belt, but it probably won't see much action in everyday use anyway. The side stretch pockets are sufficient to hold a large tumbler or water bottle - a nice improvement over the little Daylite Plus.The front pocket is huge - full height of the bag. The organizer panel could use a few more compartments - BUT - the interior compartments for the laptop and the general use / file area also have additional zipper pockets tucked away for plenty of organization. The top access pocket is convenient for tech, sunglasses, etc, though it doesn't seem too "scratch proof." The laptop compartment is *huge* - it swallowed my 14" laptop, so I have no doubt it would fit a good sized 15" unit. Since the separate laptop compartment is right against your back - it certainly stiffens the bag - I think the padding is more than adequate to be comfortable, but you can tell there's something solid in there. The laptop portion does not zip flat (like a TSA-friendly bag) - zips about 1/3 of the way down the pack, where the file / main compartment zips down about half way (with the compression straps unbuckled). The pack does have a port for hydration if you use the laptop compartment for that instead.I like that this bag has both upper and lower compression straps to keep the bag tidy and tight no matter how much or how little you have stuffed in there. The top grab handle and front panel handle are nice and snug against the pack - doesn't feel like there's a lot of extra things flopping around.This is one I'm going to be happy to carry daily, travel with, and go on some day hikes or similar with - a little bit of everything.

Love this bag. I got it to handle my 17 inch work laptop which fits perfectly snug into the dedicated pocket. Has the right amount of storage for an everyday back pack with great accessibility of pockets. And I always love a front grab handle and this one is very comfortable to handle. I’ve loaded it up to 20lbs in the bag and it felt great on a 3 mile walk. I feel like I could easily wear this for 20 and not even notice. My only wish for improvement it that it had a softer lining for the sunglasses pocket but I doubt it would scratch my glasses anyways. If I lost or destroy this backpack I’d Buy it again and that’s the highest praise I can give.

I knew nothing about daypacks when I ordered this for a Christmas gift. When it came I could tell it was a sturdy versatile backpack. So I ordered 2 more for gifts. After Christmas, this month, February, all 3 recipients told me that they love everything about this Comet by Osprey. Then I ordered one for me but they accidentally sent a Parsec daypack by Osprey. It is designed almost exactly like the Comet with one exception. It has 2 large zippered compartments and a deep front pocket about 2/3 the size of the backpack that doesn't zip so one can quickly stuff belongings into it on the run. I liked it too. But I decided to order the Comet for myself because I like having 3 large zippered compartments. I kept the Parsec to give to a family member for her birthday. I love all of the compartments inside and the simplicity of the exterior design. I love the Grey color. The one shown above is solid grey with reddish trim. What I received is actually a 2 toned bluish/grey color with orange trim. The navy blue pack is solid and the navy is soft dark blue, attractive. Very happy with my purchases.

Purchased for college. Fits my 13in MacBook Air, Hydro flask, notebook and stuff well. Gets heavy fast as all backpacks can. It goes on over my coat fairly easily. I like the layout with the laptop sleeve large main and front compartment. Also has smaller zippered spaces for sunglasses, masks, pens or earbuds etc. My classes operate on ebooks, article format, videos and podcasts so not carrying any books yet. Zippers work well too. Cat approved. Can't attest to durability yet but Osprey is great stuff with a great warranty. I do own a Daylite Plus but it's not suitable for school, more for day trips to the beach etc

Well designed and constructed, if you are like using it for work, you will enjoy the laptop compartment as well as the functionality of additional pockets. Quality materials used by Osprey on it sure makes this unit a 24/7. On my next travel adventure will change the content if the bag, and this one will go hiking.

I fly once a week and this is perfect for a weekend trip. It fits my size 12 shoes with 3 entire outfits! The shoulder straps are comofrtable and the abundance of pockets hold everything my heart desires.

I bought this backpack for my wife and I'm finding myself borrowing it from her repeatedly. It is an excellent product (as usual from Osprey) for multiple uses. She uses it on day hikes and traveling; I borrowed it when I needed a pack for my computer, clothes, etc for a 3 day trip; my Osprey Talon 22 (another great pack for day trips) was just too small for that kind of trip. I enjoyed everything about this pack: comfort, features, and typical Osprey quality.

I used this backpack to travel to various destinations and am impressed with the capacity of the bag. 30L does not seem like much but when this bag is packed, it holds a lot! The weight in the bag is distributed well and I do not need to lean a bit forward to walk. Overall, great purchase and do recommend for anyone traveling for business or pleasure!
