This ladder is to die for! Not just for a library!
The media could not be loaded. I was able to use this ladder for the exterior of my butler pantry cabinetry that is for a 10’ ceiling. I added the rollers/stoppers to the bottom of the ladder as well as the sliding track to the top. This ladder is extremely sturdy with a beautiful finish.

Looks nice, but too dangerous to use for loft access
Bought this to access our loft, but found it too dangerous for regular use. It immediately felt unsafe and we tried to use it vary cautiously but it still caused an injury within just two days of use. We were trying to replace a aluminum loft ladder, which has been in use for years, with something nicer looking. We're very comfortable with ladders in general, but this one ended up being too dangerous for our use.First off, the spacing of the steps feels unnatural for both my partner and I (we have about 1 foot height difference). It feels irregular and awkward to find the steps climbing backwards. The width is also too narrow for both of us. It's difficult to climb when your hips and shoulders feel so constrained. It also makes it difficult to hold onto securely, especially when climbing over the top.The pitch of the ladder feels too steep, given the spacing and depth of steps. I couldn't tell you what the "correct" spacing supposedly is, but I own a step ladder, two work ladders, a loft ladder, and have used a many others and this particular ladder makes me feel more uncomfortable than any others. We only used the ladder barefoot and it still feels very slippery. The edges of the steps are rounded and combined with the pitch, depth of each step, and spacing of steps, makes it very slippery. The construction isn't terrible, but the screw holes are a little irregular and the step slots aren't perfectly aligned, which resulted in being unable to get the steps properly squared against the rails. at the worst it was off by 5-7mm. Even with everything screwed together tightly and squared up as best I could, there's a little wobble when placed on an even surface. So that's not great. The ladder is probably be fine for getting to top kitchen shelves or cabinets, but I would not recommend it for climbing more than 3-4 feet to be honest. After slipping and getting injured on this thing, we decided to return it to discover an obscene 20%-50% "restocking fee" for just unboxing and assembling something that turns out to be unfit for safe use. I consider that extremely shady and aggressive. How else could we know it it's safe without taking it out of the box?I'll update the review after trying our luck with the return process.

Heavy, sturdy, great ladder
Great ladder! It's very heavy and tall so can be a little bit of a challenge to maneuver if you don't have wheels. But it's exactly what we wanted for our space. Sturdy, easy to use, simple assembly, overall great product and experience.

Missing parts and supposed to be replaced
This items came missing several parts including the screws to put it together. It was supposed to be replaced 3 months ago but still says "not yet shipped". I have received several notices to accept a new ship date but there is once again no ship date available. The prodice is made of nice wood and appears that it would be sturdy.

Wonderful ladder, esp if you want natural
Looks great and is sturdy. My learnings: the hardware is cheap and strips and the ladder is prefinished. You have to sand every piece to stain it unless you want the natural finish. The tracks do not connect well (o rings for connectors are oversized), but when mounted they work fine. I used only 1 of 2 o rings and made it work.I would recommend you buy it and have some black hardware on hand and remove an o ring for connectors.

Solid and beautiful
It's expensive, yes, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. It's a nice, solid ladder and the wood and polish are really nice.
