Is this leak proof? Can I fill it up with ice and put water bottles in it?

Yes it's leak proof. We just did a cross country drive and used this cooler with ice in it. We'd dump the cold water out every day or two and refill it with ice on top of the cooler packed goods. It never leaked and we'd just empty the water out of a front corner. Very pleased with this.

Will this keep drinks and perishables cold for 8-12 hrs if cooler is stored at room temperature? Want to take this to Vegas

We bought 8 $1 plastic ice packs and drove 8 hours multiple days in a row. Our stuff was cold at the end of the day.

Will the 60 can cooler collapse enough to put in a suitcase for flying?

It takes up about 20% of the space of a standard checked bag from personal experience. I have never packed into a cabin bag but it would be approaching 40 or 50% of the bag. It would take up 100% of an under seat bag. The cooler is very foldable so that the internal cavity can be collapsed. The cooler material itself is not compressible. I would use it more but mine leaked after the first use.
