Quality Built Espresso Machine
We have purchased Saeco and DeLonghi espresso makers in the past. We were never happy with the durability or quality of those machines. We purchased this model in December of 2015. We have just gone past 4 years without a single issue. The cleaning process is simple, and does not require taking out the brewing mechanism. We have always used Jura filters, and these have worked well. The only downside on the machine is the heat of the coffee when adding steamed milk. It is not hot, but more warm. It does a great job making espresso and coffee, and operation is simple. We will definitely buy Jura when we need our next machine.

Despite a couple of complaints, overall an EXCELLENT coffee machine
This is my third Jura Impressa machine -- they last about four years. My previous models have been different, but basically the same body and general configuration (my last one was a C5.)I have had to send them back for service a couple of times, which is a real pain if you don't keep the original box and packaging materials. There are just so many moving parts, it's not realistic to expect them to work perfectly forever. I have found their customer support to be spotty -- sometimes it's been very frustrating and other times it's been fantastic. This makes excellent "regular" coffee, with a nice REAL crema on top. It also produces hot water which is very handy for tea, and steam which I never use. It also accepts ground coffee, rather than whole beans, in a special compartment if you want to make decaf from ground coffee for instance. But most often, we just keep the beans and water full, it it grinds and makes outstanding coffee, every cup fresh and hot.You might be debating if you should buy a K-cup machine, or a Nespresso "pod" machine. Those are much less expensive to buy, but the coffee is MUCH MUCH more expensive. And although the flavor is good -- how can freeze-dried coffee compare to fresh ground? It cannot.COMPLAINTS: There are three things I don't like about this machine:1. The maximum cup size is 8 oz. This only fills a big coffee mug a bit more than half way, and half of my travel mug. The only way around this is to set the cup size to 6 or 7 oz, and make two cups -- which it does in a single operation -- just "double tap" the start button. But kind of inconvenient.2. Although a large mug will fit under the nozzles, you can't set a travel mug in there. The only way to fill a tall mug is to tilt it towards the machine and hold it while the coffee comes out. Again, not a deal-breaker, but inconvenient.3. The water and bean hopper lids (and hinges) are made of cheap plastic and often break. My wife and housekeeper and kids are not always gentile when opening and closing the filler lids, and the hinges have broken about 6 or 8 times over the years. Replacements are around $20 each, and I keep a few spares for each side on hand. I wish these were made out of metal. Jura must know about this problem -- they have the lids listed on their order form -- but haven't ever addressed this problem.

loved my previous product and so far this one is working great
This is my second espresso machine from Jura. Loved the original and this model is an upgrade from my previous C5, but looks the same, and works very similar. The last one lasted for 6 years before needing to be sent back for maintenance. Decided not to spend the shipping cost to New Jersey, then the maintenance cost, and the shipping back cost and get a new one. Only complaint is that this appears to be a returned product. The first indication was the Jura box (inside two other boxes) had brown packing tape keeping it closed. Inside the Jura box, after removing the Styrofoam and plastic wrap was an invoice from sur la table from someone in texas. Also, missing the "tool" for measuring the water hardness. I'm keeping it, as it appears to be working okay, and didn't have any indication it had been used (no coffee grounds, etc.) and I was desperate to have it. Just beware, this smacked of Home Depot's handling of returned products - just tape it up and put back on the shelf without checking it out.

Impressed with my Jura
Ok. It costs... well a lot compared to most coffee makers. However, the time it saves (stopping by a coffee shop, making your own, responsibly recycling k-cup containers, etc) is worth it. I've also been keeping track of each cup and how many bags of coffee I buy. At the rate it is used in my house, it'll pay for itself in around three months, factoring in time saved and money saved per cup.Oh, and the brew it makes is solid. The manual is legit, and not for the timid. It can do a lot but it sometimes takes a few minutes to research it within the manual to do it properly.Cleaning is a breeze so far. No issues.I worked in an office which had the previous version of this machine. It was used CONSTANTLY and didn't have any issues. That is what made me get this one. Hopefully, it can stand up to my use.Last, when friends visit and you bring them a latte or a triple espresso - they are happy which makes me happy. Worth it.

2 Machines in One year...
NOT PLEASED with my purchase. We are on our second machine. Same problem is happening again with the arm that comes out from the machine. This malfunctions and we lose the steam out the top of the arm. Jura replaced this machine once. 8 months later same problem. We asked if we could upgrade to a different machine and pay the difference. Jura denied our request and pushed us back on 1st in Coffee even after we have a 2 year warranty; we now have a message into 1st in Coffee. JURA had offered to fix our machine BUT we would be without our machine for probably a month. If we have been thru 2 machines in 1 year we feel we need a different machine. We feel if you pay this much for a machine it should last longer than 8 months. We are waiting for our response from 1st In Coffee. We do feel our request to pay to upgrade to a different machine was very generous offer on our part that would probably help JURA and 1st in Coffee as it will probably happen again. Love the coffee and espresso this machine puts out BUT I do expect the machine to last longer than 2 machines in a one year period. We will wait and see BUT I am not optimistic.

Very good tasting coffee/espresso and the parts and the machine itself ...
Very good tasting coffee/espresso and the parts and the machine itself are very well built and easy to use. One thing is when making a latte, it is only warm. 3/4 milk makes the drink cooler than a drink like a cappacino that has less milk. Espresso and hot water comes out very hot. The problem seems to be with the steamed milk temp. If anyone has a fix for this please let me know. We like our specialty coffees hot.

JURA ...
Also keine Styroporformteile o. Good quality coffee machine and excellent coffee!
We got this as an upgrade to our 7 year old machine and first things first, they did send me the C50 but issued me a refund for the price difference when I notified them. The machines are the same so it make very little difference to me.The coffee this machine makes is very good, we haven't made Latte so can't comment on that. The hot water function might be OK for black tea but not herbal teas as the water is not hot enough.Overall the machine is a LOT cleaner than the old one, the old grounds are nice and dry so no mold in the tray and the water waste is also minimal. I would assume that the inside of the machine is also a lot cleaner due to this - no more biweekly scrubbing of the grinding machine and awkward parts of the coffee machine.Overall very happy with the coffee and the machine in general - looks good, works well and is easy to maintain.

Genial!
