great for tight spaces
I needed to remove some valves on the wall behind my washing machine and the tight fit required special care. this mat is just what I needed and kept the wall in tact.

Great deal
I needed to solder some radio wires in the dash of my vehicle but was apprehensive of using flame in tight quarters especially with highly flammable plastics. I inserted the pad between wires and the dash with excellent results. It’s worth every penny. It didn’t even get warm with direct flame on it. I was highly impressed.

Don't Use
My son and I were doing brazing in the garage on the hose bib. We placed this behind where we were doing the work and not even a time to get the joint hot, the mat itself started on fire.

Used with MAP gas for copper pipes
The blanket held up great while I soldered copper pipes together in bathroom remodel. I needed some extra time with heating up pipes and the blank got hot due to tight spaces. It did not burn though, and I did not set the wall on fire. Tough stuff! No burnt spots on the wall either.

Not the toughest
Expected this to handle a decent amount of heat based on the description but it ended up burning up while soldering some copper. I should have just picked up from the local supply house. For those using anything hotter than a torch, I cannot recommend.

Didn't burn down the house
I had to remove some old leaking pipes and lost my old mat in our move. Was very pleased with these, and the design was an upgrade from the one I lost. Two for one is a bonus!
