Good looks can be deceiving
Well, I’ve gone through a lot of 3D printers. (MakerBot, XYZ, Cube) and this is the nicest LOOKING 3D printer. It doesn’t take up much room and does have a good build size. However, that’s where the good things end for this printer. The print quality, when you first get it set up, is amazing. Really good stuff actually. However, once you run it a while it starts to jam and the print quality deteriorates. It could just be a firmware update they need to do, but to me, with my other printers, this is off putting. And it gets worse from there. The laser engraving is a joke. I tried to laser a design into my wallet, and it just rubbed right off. The 3D scanner was broken, and the printer is noisy. Honestly, I don’t see how this is any better than a 300$ Davinci Jr, as that printer seems the most reliable out of ones I’ve had.

I also own a Flux 3D printer. For me it prints in High Quality nearly perfect. I have the "spider web" strings between parts that are apart, but that is very easy to remove. I have to unload and reload my Flux branded filament every time I start a new print. If I don't, it will not feed very good at all and the feeder will make an awful Click-Click-Click sound. I have the Kickstarter 1st version, but upgraded it to the version 2 printer in parts. The printer is not loud to me, as I expect the printer to make noise. I had to slow the print speed to 60mm across the board, to insure that the filament pulls and flows smoothly. The software works, but is ultra basic. I can not edit the .STL at all. Maybe when they hit version 1.0 this will be a feature. Currently the software is still a beta version (0.9.xx). Overall, I like this printer. It is expensive, so I hope they create a full featured program for it ASAP. In the guise of Slic3r, Sculptris, or even Simplify3D. After all it is over a $1000 USD printer.

Piece of junk
I would never recommed this printer to anyone. I've backed the kickstarter project and the printer hasn't worked from the begining. The 3D scanner is a joke, has never acquire a usable image from day 0. After just a few printings, the motherboard is no longer working and according to the customer it can't be fixed or replaced. Now I have a very expensive paper weight on my desk.

Very versatile, multi-functional, EASY to use printer
I was a Kickstarter supporter, so I've followed the development, delivery, and upgrade of this printer. This system incorporates a high-quality delta printer, a laser scanner, a web camera, a laser engraver, a drawing head, and more. There's even a vinyl cutter, but I haven't bought that. There are lots of very clever and elegant designs here, not the least are the magnetic pivot joints to connect the toolhead to the frame, ensuring no loss of precision over time and easy toolhead changeout. The auto-leveling feature will be especially appreciated by those that have to level their cartesian printers, and makes this an easy first-time-user printer. The developers regularly send out software and firmware updates, and are very supportive. The printer is designed for 500g spools, but a 1Kg spool holder can easily be printed. The software printing studio is based on CURA, and allows access to the underlying parameters for detailed adjustments. I find the built-in camera very useful to check on the progress of a print.

Happy long-time customer
I have owned the Flux 3d Printer since the first wave of the Kickstarter campaign. I also own a second Flux purchased when they opened up their business. After using the Flux for over two years, I can attest that it’s a fine printer. I own other printers and I have helped others with their printers of other brands. Flux is consistently my favorite printer. I would not hesitate to suggest it to others, or to buy it again. Some people experience difficulties with any product. Some people experience happiness with any product. (The Apple v Android wars are one example) My experience with Flux has been great.
