Shea Moisture Nourishing Hair Color Kit, Dark Blonde

I searched every beauty supply in my area and 2 other countries. NO ONE had it but AMAZON 😊. Had to wait 2wks for it [backorders or something] but it was definitely worth the wait. THIS WAS THE BEST HAIR DYE PURCHASE I HAVE EVER MADE. Two easy steps, the dye didnt drip like others do -it was cream based, washing it out was not messy--this was GREAT!! They also included a Porosity packet which made my hair feel so silky and moisturized. End result = MY hair color exceeded my expectations and it still looks AWESOME. This product was great on my natural hair -- my husband loves how it looks [worth noting because he's my biggest fan / never lies when I ask how I look😍]. As soon as I washed the product out of my hair I saw my great color---I loved it and he walked in and said, "wow- your hair looks great!" Unsolicited compliment = MISSION ACCOMPLISHED 💃🏾💃🏾!!

I researched this brand on Ulta before purchasing it. A huge percentage of the people who'd used it advised future purchasers to buy a color that is lighter than the color they want because the resulting color on their hair would be much darker than it showed on the box. Based on those reviews, I bought a lighter brown than I wanted, believing that I would end up with dark brown hair. I ended up with hair that was precisely the same color as the box. I only mention that just in case other people had received the same advice I had. The reason I gave it 5 stars is that it's a far superior product compared to the many other brands I've tried in the past. It actually lightened my hair without bleach or any other harsh chemicals. It smelled wonderful. It completely covered ALL my gray, and the conditioner they give you to put on after you use it is some of the best I've ever used. I colored my hair about 3 or so weeks ago, and the color hasn't faded and there's no gray hair visible yet. I wash my hair almost daily, so that's pretty impressive.

It was my first time coloring my own hair (and I have TONS of thick curly hair) and this was a great choice! The product was very forgiving and easy to use. The color is beautifully rich and covered my grays completely! It smells really lovely and left my hair soft. I use all the shea moisture hair line products and their color did not dissapoint. I gave it four stars because it is indeed MUCH darker then a medium brown, but I knew this going in (thank you to others!) and I desired a dark brown, so I am happy with it.

I am always looking for a cruelty free hair color kit and they are extremely hard to find. I decided to try this one and I am so glad I did. It doesn't have that strong chemical smell that all the drug store brands do and it leaves my hair so soft. The conditioner they give you is wonderful. I have short hair so I have been able to use it for weeks after. The applicator didn't want to give a lot of product so I had to cut a larger hole. I ended up cutting it a little too big so I made a huge mess putting it on but that may have been my fault. I am definitely going to use a bowl and brush to color next time I use this instead of the little bottle they provide but that is just preference. This will be my new hair color kit from now on and most importantly...IT IS CRUELTY FREE!!!!!

This was my first time using this and it was a pretty good experience. Directions were easy, steps were simple and all in all it went well. My hair didn't come out blonde but because my hair was dark brown I knew it wouldn't. It actually has an example of the color on the box showing you what color ur hair would be. I think it's a little pricey compared to others. But oh well.

I ordered the Medium Brown and have high porosity, 3a/4a shoulder length hair. The hair color smelled better than any box color I've ever tried and the amount given was generous. I prewet hair before coloring to ensure it would spread through my hair evenly. The color was very thick and didn't drip at all! I processed for 25 minutes and rinsed.My hair is not medium brown. Not even close. It's very dark brown, almost black. I knew from another person's review that this might happen with this color, and had already decided that if it happened, I'd be ok with it. The dark color works on me, so it's ok. Buy if you're expecting MEDIUM brown, you're not going to get it.I will say that the deep conditioner that came with it is LIFE and I will be buying a full size. It made my hair amazingly soft and curly and it smelled heavenly.So just be aware. Med brown is actually a cool to neutral very dark brown. If you're AA and familiar with weave/wig colors, it turned out to be a #2.Edit: a year later: this color does not remove. If you use it and want to go lighter later, it doesn't budge. I'm still growing it out so I can have the brown ginger hair I want. Just thought I'd let readers know. Not vitamin C+shampoo method, and barely bleach budge this color. Just be warned.

This was easy to use and smells good as well. My hair feels really soft and manageable after using. I can tell of any damage as of now. I used to color my hair this color at the salon and spend tons of money, so worth the time and money! I also didn't make a mess by using the bottle and squeezing a bit in each section to work through. Left on my hair first about 45 minutes in the shower cap provided. My hair did not have any color in it already before doing this, and my natural color is black/brown.

i’ve been coloring my hair for many years. recently bought this because it actually has no chemicals as opposed to many that say they are natural. however. i tried timed increments of 30-20-18-15 minutes. each time hasn’t worked for me. and every single time my hair comes out orange. i’m staying in the same color family so that’s not it. and it hardly covers my gray or lasts long at all. very frustrating. not buying again.
