Why don't you use colorfast dye that won't bleed onto skin or other clothing? After careful washing and over three dozen rinses, color still bleeds.

Keffiyeh were originally designed and woven in the Levant, primarily in Palestine. It was a practical scarf for all seasons - against sand, dust, sun in summer and cold winters (yes, such topographies, especially near large water ways get very cold at night! Every few year it can snow as well.). My first time living in Gaza, I figured it was how all winter - big mistake. Decorative items were usually in blankets and tapestries or kilim (2 sided). They are hand made and very costly asits a slow and dying art form. Kuffiyahs though became sdopted as a fashion item with little knowledge. In Palestine, perhaps around 40-50 years ago, the colors id'd the wearer: green/white for far right muslims (IJ and Hamas), red/white for communist/socialists (PFLP, DFLP, FFLP-GC) and black/white for secular and Christians. Other colors are for fashion. The only handmade ones still produced, and I have one, is at a small shop in Hebron, south of Bethlehem- all others from anywhere else (China, India) are machine made.

Excellent quality Shemagh.

Excellent quality Shemagh. I already have a white one, my wife liked it and fancied a blue coloured one. I use this for when I'm spending time outdoors in hot weather.I soak it under a tap, wring the water out and wear it around my shoulders or as a long bandana. They also make a great warm scarf in the winter.The material is strong but very comfortable. The colors hold after washing at a sensible low temperature.Lastly they look great, I will definitely be buying them again.

Fantastic item

Fabric is thin and breatheable but feels comfortable to wear, not scratchy. Size is good for folding into various shapes for wear. Pattern isn’t blurry and the colours contrast well, no issues with threads. Keeps you cool from the sun on a hot day but can also function to warm you up when it’s colder. Very versatile because of all the headdresses you can make from it, my personal favourite is the typical neckwrap.🍉

Light, breathable cotton scarf

Very pleased with this scarf. It is just the right fabric (light cotton) for a spring/summer scarf - keeps my neck warm but is breathable. The colours are vibrant and the size is perfect. Wish they did a greater range of colours as I would buy another.
