Nice Replacement
Having had a very earlier model which after many years gave up the ghost I replaced it with the later version, various differences in display screen but only to be expected after many years using a older model, that said it is easy on the eye once you get use to it, as an older person I found the keyboard easy to use,not as difficult as other people who have bought this product have commented on,due to the lateness of model it as a much larger ammount of words than the one it replaced which is a big plus due to the ever updating of our language,I for one am more than happy with my purchase

Seiko Thesaurus ER2100
The use of the Seiko Concise Oxford Electronic Thesaurus ER2100 did not get off to a good start! The item is supplied with a battery but on trying to get started it was found that the battery was 'flat', but after making a million pound raid (only kidding) to our local Sainsbury to buy a new battery and the fitting of same the ER2100 burst into life. The ER2100 is easy to use and does what it says on the box. However, although holding a large number of words it does have what I consider a few omissions - for example when looking for a five letter word for 'sword' and inserting a couple of letters already available it did not come up with 'sabre'. There have been a few other cases where this has happened. The words are those that come up regularly in crosswords and are not exactly a 'rare' word which I would not expect an electronic thesaurus to have in its memory. I have been generous with the marking as I consider it nearer to a 4 star than a three star. I used to have an ancient first generation electronic 'Rogets' thesaurus which only very very rarely got defeated to which I am comparing the ER2100. All in all a good little machine but be prepared for its limitations - and have a stock of batteries to hand, just in case!!

This product failed to work after 2 months of use!
My father-in-law and I had one of these each for many years. When his eventually stopped working I decided to buy him one for Christmas. He was delighted with it and, although not as robust as the original one bought over a decade ago, worked well and he was delighted with it. After less than 2 months of use the unit has stopped working completely! He replaced the battery but that did not help. He tried to reset it but the only option it gave him was to reset the LCD display which had stuck. It now does not work at all!I am hoping that Seiko will be able to either repair or replace the unit for him. The seller on Amazon has informed me that their return date has passed and it is now up to us to take up the 1 year warranty with the manufacturer. I DID get a very speedy response from the seller on Amazon, for which I was grateful.

Fantastic gadget to aid a child with spelling
Fantastic gadget to aid a child with spelling, letter reversing and tracking difficulty. This helps too if the person doesn't necessarily know the first letter of a word, not always but often. Better than I imagined as there are also lots of spelling games to play alone or with a friend that are actually fun to do. There was a novelty with it to begin with but it has proved the test of time and gone to school every day, come out of school bag to be played with regularly by choice, even taken voluntarily on holiday to be played with. Recommend, as a teacher and a parent. I want one!

Fantastic gift for the person who has everything.
This is one of the best products that I have purchased in a long time. It is compact enough to be carried discreetly in a pocket without being bulky. The thusaurus / dictionary is very good, but what I particularly like are some of the other aspects of this item. Being able to input data and save the info is amazing, especially clothing, shoe sizes and currency converter. For all the people who, nowadays, travel the world, whether on business or holidays, this is a must-have for the journey. Simply input the relevant details, press to save, and retrieve them when necessary. There are other similar, cheaper items in the marketplace, but this item is definitely worth the price tag.

Excellent buy!
Bought this for my grand daughter who has problems with spelling. Read lots of reviews regarding spellcheckers, many were negative, and unsure which one to buy. Bought this one and tried it on a crossword puzzle, 5 stars, then tried it as a spellchecker and it came up with words nothing like the word, however as my grand daughter spells words how they sound when she tried it, bingo it came up with the correct spelling, so 5 stars given.

Disappointing Product
I bought this product to replace a SeikoER6100 and am most disappointed. I missed the fact that even at the price of around£35 there is no dictionary and the hand set is so small that only 2 words at a time can be displayed on the screen. This means it is tortuously slow to use. Compare this with the 8 word displays of my original model. The searches take for ever to show. This is the worst purchase I have ever made on Amazon. I paid more than for other models thinking it would be superior. Having destroyed the original box, I didn't feel I could return it.
