Excellent Printer at a Good Price
Superb printer for the price. Small footprint so doesn't take up a great deal of desk space.Easy to set up to wireless operation. In use it is extremely intuitive. Love the fact that printing from anywhere turns the printer on. No need to get up from your work if the printer's turned off in another room.Quality of both documents and photos is excellent. Also speed of printing is great, don't need any faster for personal use. Duplex printing also available and works well, and surprisingly quick. From my experience so far it is very economical in ink usage. I've done loads of documents and photos and the supplied demonstration cartridges aren't even down to half.Easy to print from both iPhones or Android Phones using Canon Print app, though the app takes a bit of getting used to. Not as intuitive as the printer.Scanning/copying also produces excellent results, and is very easy to use.Thoroughly recommended purchase.

Canon support? Who?
Sad to say that I have had to return this as it was just too unreliable and canon support was non-existent.The duplex printing jammed paper so often I stopped using it, then it randomly stopped printing the bottom cm of the page and in some cases it only printed half the page. If you can get it to print the quality is really good, but it's not worth the effort. Very disappointed, got so cross I almost sold my Canon D60 and went Nikon!

A great printer. For 15 months, then it just stopped working.
This was a great printer (or so we thought) for almost exactly 15 months from when we bought it. Then it just stopped printing. there was a fault with the print head which the non-existant Canon customer service couldn't do anything about. service centres said it wasn't worth fixing either. So that's another heap of plastic, metal and toxic residue destined for landfill. Well done canon. After over ten years of using canon printer, we're giving Epson a try this time...

Canon Again.
What a printer this is in every way , I have always purchased Canon printers for around 10 years & can honestly say this is the best yet.The photo printing is of the highest professional standard as is the scanning. I have just started printing on disc & again they come out perfect.I had no trouble setting it up & it looks great on my desk , the price was very reasonable once again thanks to Amazon.Sorry to have to say again that I cant understand why Canon make such great printers but the ink is more expensive than petrol, lucky we have Amazon to purchase ink from otherwise I would not be able to afford ink at full price. I certainly wont use compatible ink especially on a printer of this high quality.I would certainly recommend this printer to anyone especially those who loves taking photos, they come out 100% & are sharp & crisp with beautiful colours.

A good printer for your average user. First class Photo printing
This printer has seen some fairly negative comments from other reviewers. Most of these have been from purchasers who have had inflated expectations for what is a cheap product considering the quality of output and the features.Quality of print, both text and photographs, is very good. The typeface on documents is clear and shows no signs of furring. The photographs that I have printed (using the provided inks and papers) have been first class. I cannot comment on the quality if third party inks are used. I have used third party papers and the quality has been consistently good. I will use third party inks when the ink supplied with the printer is exhausted. On the subject of ink usage. I bought the printer on 13th November and am still using the supplied inks. I've seen low ink warnings for the Black and Cyan cartridges but, from years of experience I know to ignore these warnings until I see signs on the output. So I think that the ink usage is about the same as my previous Pixma 5150 printer. There is some waste of ink when the printer does its periodic maintenance but that is true of most modern inkjet printers and I'd rather that than have blocked ink nozzles.I have a couple of criticisms. Most of these are when compared with my previous Pixma 5150 printer. The paper cassette holds less paper and needs refilling more frequently. This, in itself would be OK except that the cassette is hidden by the output tray and is a bit fiddly to remove and replace. Not a deal breaker. It is not quite as easy to put paper in the rear tray (where I normally put my photograph paper). The flap seems to be an unnecessary feature. Again, not a deal breaker. There have been a lot of comments about flimsy construction. The only place that this is evident is the fold-out that houses the screen. This is not actually flimsy but, because it is hinged with no additional support it seems to bend when switching the printer on and off. The lid covering the scanning plate is also much thinner than previously but does not seem likely to break unless it is abused.Overall the printer is smaller and lighter than the Pixma 5150 and, when the output tray is retracted, takes up a lot less room than the 5150.So, quite a good little printer and good value. No problems either in the initial setup nor in day-to-day usage.

Nice printer, often jams on duplex.
Nice looking, space saving printer with a neat paper tray which was essential for an office tidy freak like me. Easy to setup, mainly works perfectly and good quality prints overall. Reasonably fast scanning and copying, pretty fast at printing too for an InkJet. Downsides: occasionally loses connection for no reason, duplex printing very regularly jams at any paper weight and is a pain to clear (so much so I have stopped using it), paper capacity on the tray is quite low. Not a bad choice for the money though.

Good printer, no problems so far.
Great printing. Bit of a pain to set up but once done printing is fast, double sided printing is great for saving paper (when you manage to set it up on your computer with no help from cannon). Compact printer with good build quality and modern looks. This is an upgrade from an old cannon printer and they have made a lot of positive changes. Paper tray is easy to refill and holds plenty of paper. Also looks cool when it opens its self up before printing. Touch screen works well and software is east to navigate.
