Sylvanian Families Brick Oven Bakery

My daughter has just recently got into sylvanian families, which delighted me as it takes me right back to my own childhood.Top of her wish list was cedar terrace and this bakery set.I was excited to see this bakery set in real life, as on the adverts it looked fantastic. When she opened this Christmas Day it did not disappoint, the smile on her face was a picture and it has been played with endlessly ever since Christmas Day.The set has Eleanor Bramble, a lovely mother hedgehog, in her bakers uniform. There are plenty of authentic looking yummy baked goods, in lots of different shapes and varieties, from breads to pastries. The baked goods are small, so even though it is recommended from age 3 years and up, I would personally think 4 years and up would be more realistic. But that's just my opinion as my younger ones are still prone to putting things in their mouths, and the little treats do look very tempting!This set has everything you need to run your own bakery, over 50 pieces in total. There are the ingredients to do the baking, milk, butter etc, trays and baskets as well as the oven itself.The baked goods come in all kinds of shapes, from a rabbit shape to a cat shape and hedgehog shape.The set includes shopping bags to put the baked goods in.This set can also be connected to other sets, such as cedar cottage, the starter home or other shops, such as the boutique.The quality is still there with sylvanian families, so well worth the money.There is so much to this set that it provides hours of imaginative play as it is, but added to other sets, the possibilities are endless.I cannot recommend this set enough, and great as a first piece for any new collector.

Purchased for £22.99 on 10th September. Honestly can’t believe it’s now gone up to £49.99! It’s good value at the price I paid, but would be overpriced above that! It’s disgraceful that prices get pushed up so high in the run up to Christmas. I’ve been asked to rate the value for money and I would say it’s worth it up to £25, but no higher. I always loved Sylvanian Families as a kid and I’ve purchased this to give to my niece for Christmas. It was lovely to see a set again and brought back good memories. I think she will really enjoy it.

I can confirm that as well as receiving a Brick Oven Bakery through the Vine programme, I have also bought another Bakery from Amazon too and so the verified purchase label showing at the top of this review alongside the green Vine banner is correct as I have paid for another Bakery set as a gift for my niece alongside the one I received for my daughter.My daughter is only just discovering the magic of Sylvania and as I used to collect and have Sylvanian Families when I was little, it's really strange but so nice to now see my daughter playing with them herself. My son who is also young is also enjoying playing with them with his little sister and he is quite happy to do so as they are little animals rather than dolls which I think lends them a bit of gender neutrality (not that I would mind anyway but he is now of that age where he has started to sadly differentiate between 'girls toys' and 'boys toys'). I've bought quite a lot of the Sylvanian sets, furniture and animals in the last few months and I can confirm that they are just as well made and designed as when I was little and I'm actually secretly (well maybe not so secretly) enjoying being able to set them up and play with my children with them too as it brings back very happy memories of my old sets from when I was little.The Bakery is one of the newer Sylvanian Families sets and luckily it recently dropped in price a few times and I managed to take advantage of this so that I could purchase one as a gift for my niece (my daughter has the Vine one) and so it is worth keeping an eye out for the occasional deal.I echo the sentiments of another reviewer in that this is one of the best Sylvanian sets we have (the Supermarket set is fantastic value for all the accessories it includes too) and has so many small accessories and pieces to keep your children amused. I too have had to pack away a lot of the smaller pieces as my daughter is only just learning how to play with small world items and not lose every small piece down the sides of the sofa and in the small toy black hole that seems to exist somewhere in our home! The set not only comes with lots of small bread accessories but also comes with a figure too and so would make a lovely starter set for a new Sylvanian fan.The set can be connected to other different sets such as the Cosy Cottage, Beechwood Hall and the Boutique and I will add some photos in the next week or so showing how they connect.The Bakery is not the most played with set out of all of the Sylvanian sets we have at the moment but that is mainly because I have had to put so many of the small parts away until my daughter is a little older but I know as soon as she is old enough to play with all of the small parts properly and recognise how to play with the set as a shop that this will be as successful as the Supermarket set which she absolutely adores and grasps the concept of from our own shopping trips.This is a wonderful set and has so much value with all of the pieces and the figure included and is another great set from the world of Sylvania.

New. Perfect condition.

This is a lovely set. My daughter saw this one so I put it in my watch list and when it came on offer I bought it and put it away for her birthday. She adores this set and loves setting out all her baked goods. Even though the pieces are small she really does take care of them and plays with them lovely. She loved the hedgehog so much that we extended the family with the other figures. They’re very engaging and she will spend ages making up her own stories with them. I’ve still got my sylvanian from when I was young so I’m confident my daughters will be cherished for just as long.

Fantastic price, purchased while less than half the RRP.I have a Sylvanian Families obsessed 5 year old who loved this set, very good value for money and lots of play time already had from this piece.Would reccomend to anyone wanting to start a Sylvanian Families set up/collection, as can be used in play to go shopping then home to eat. She's loved it.

Very sweet little set. My granddaughters love Sylvanian families and this set was no exception. Lots of detail. They loved it. (aged 6 and 3)

Good, if you like this sort of thing. I only purchased it as a gift but I'm sure the intended audience (7 year old girl) will be smitten with a traditional workhouse for her furry friends to slave in on a hot day.
