Highly priced, but if you've got it spend it on this!
Yes it's a very very good od distortion pedal. I now believe it's worth the money....Context-I'm a pro signed musician now and so I've been using blessings from new finances to upgrade my kit and so here I am... Spending money lol. Every musicians dream! Praise God always! But you put EVH on it and anything goes up silly times what a pedal like this should go for but you know what, it's so worth it.I've had a few days now with this and it's became a totally invaluable addition. It functions as so much on my board, od and a distortion. The eq is actually sensitive too and very noticeable as you tweak it.The gate is very useful and works well from any noise from this pedal. There can be a slight delay for it activing the lower its set but even set right up I didn't notice any clipping or tone/attack deficiency which is really great!I have my gain set at about 9-10 o clock as that's honestly all it needs when stacked with my box of rock and boost. It stacks well with other pedals and the boost is decent too. Not like a stand alone boost would be I wouldn't expect that with only around 9dcb. But it does boost and just nicely noticeable! Annoying lovation of said boost though, doesn't light up and I'm not bending down to engage it lol... So kinda redundant to me personally unless you plan on keeping it on for the whole 9dcb and added noise to your signal lol..It's overall layout is easy to use and I like the mids and treble on it. I keep the bass lower when I'm using the les Paul, as thays a given lolThis one of them classic rock pedals where you really don't need a lot of gain at all to get gain if you get me lol... Low is plenty. You're getting ACDC sounds from around 10-11 o clock... Which is nice as less noise but like I said, that gate works a wonder, how they did it cranked as high as it will go, without killing sustain tone or attack is beyond me!Is it worth the £215 it was originally advertised for? No..... £165? 100% yes. I got mine originally for £185 'reduced' , then was reduced further a day later so I returned it and bought it again at £165 and got my £20 back lol (which then bought new spare mxr patch cables lol, tactical) I'm keeping it for sure as it's exactly what I needed and wanted sound wise and that in itself can be worth it. ..but come on, not everyone is blessed to have that kind of money to spend so meet half way guys. But bare in mind it isn't JUST an OD pedal, it's working as OD, dist, has a great gate and a mild boost in it too....and more sound shaping with an EQ ontop of all that... Plus it looks COOL and is solidly built.I actually keep this for when I'm playing heavier sets or songs etc off my main board now. I added the MXR sugar drive with my box of rock and it's gave me the sound I've been looking for by adding the sugar drive. So this stays on the shelf until it's needed but totally worth having in the arsenal! The gate light does glow too which is nice on stage! Boost doesn't and is a little hard to tell if it's on or not and isn't accessible by foot (it's a tiny tiny button!) so if you're unsure on stage, before you start check it's status as it isn't particularly obvious if it's on or off! they need to add a light to the boost as well though for this lol, but as mentioned I don't care about their 9dcb boost lol.100% love it and will keep it. Sounds super sexy and beasty with my zvex vertical box of rock and mxr line boost together!PS no I don't keep my pedals like the Pic lol... I'm swapping to a new board and am Inbetween moving them, so calm down lol.

Incredible Pedal
This pedal is sensational. Use this with my Fender Blues JrIV and it turns the amp from crystal clean to an absolute monster! Sounds awesome with both my stratocaster and Schecter Sun Valley Shredder. Can’t recommend highly enough. Used in conjunction with Phase 90 gives outrageous EVH tones!

Brilliant
At last a great overdrive/distortion pedal I think Eddie must of submitted a lot of feedback during the making of this unit,it has blown my mind how good it is,stick the mids up and it's like Eddie's tone plus it got a boost and gate button so no horrible crackles really is a tremendous unit,it's really got me!!!!if your a serious guitar player buy it best £200.00 I've spent on equipment for ages,so thanks Eddie and the people at MXR!!

Recommended for excellent EVH tone
Excellent pedal for Eddies brown sound, it produces sounds from all van halen albums without to much playing with the controls. It also produces good overdrive tones on general, was very good for ZZ top as well. The built in noise gate is very good and stops amp hum. It is best used with a clean amp or clean channel. I returned mine though as the OD channel on my blackstar HT5R amp produced just about the same tones.

Not for Van Halen
Did not feel like it created the Van Halen sound one bit. I think I used it twice before selling it.
