No it's not pre tied, you have to tie it yourself. Its long enough to do a Windsor knot. Hope this helps.

Would these ties be too big for an 8 year old boy?

If he is of normal height I would consider it to be too big.

You have a tie on your page that says it’s yellow white and grey but the photo shows blue and yellow. Is it really yellow white and grey or blue?
