I have few Bible stories at home, but they overlooked lots of details in the story, this one is really different in a good way!! Very good explanation of each story, nice format, easy to read and my kids love reading them by themselves.This stories are written in a way that my kids feel that they are part of that story too.Once again very good written, detailed which leave my kids with good imagination of what the story is about, which leads us to a good Bible study with kids!!!

This Children's Bible is an inspired work, from start to finish (although I'm a granddad, I loved it).A clear understanding of both Old and New Testaments makes it child's play!1) The illustrations by Jago are well adapted for young children; colourful, humorous, non-threatening, inviting.2) David Suchet's voice on the 3CDs is perfect: the intonation, the meaning given, all warms one's heart.3) Sally Lloyd-Jones must be world-renowned for this work: it is a masterpiece. No matter what your beliefs, stop awhile and listen. Here is Good News.The way Sally weaves Jesus into the Old Testament stories was the most inspiring element for me. Old became New, and suddenly made sense.She also avoids genealogy lists, violence, and grown-up sins. This makes it more acceptable for younger readers.I love the book. I love the 3 CD's. I highly recommend this work. Buy it as a present, for anyone: 3 year olds, grandfather, and everyone in-between. I'm going to send this De-Luxe version to my son who is 23. It is the best introduction to the Bible I've ever seen.

Beautiful and engaging for little ones. My daughter just started reading and goes back to this book every day. The illustrations are gorgeous, stories engaging and easy for young kids to follow but not oversimplified.

I bought this book to read to my 8 year old grandson, we're not a particulary religious family, but he had asked me a few things about the bible, so I thought I'd give it a go and he he really enjoys the stories, and can understand how they are relevant in our lifetime. It's written really well for children to be able to understand and I would definitely reccomend this book for young children. 👍

This is my favourite children's Bible ever, mostly because it does not contain trite "Sunday school story" snippets from the Bible with no context or application for the children to learn from. This Bible explains how each of the Old Testament stories contained relate to God's plan for all mankind, and how Jesus fulfilled all of God's promises. Try reading each of the Old Testament stories in Advent, it leads up to the Nativity wonderfully and gives you (adults too!) a very memorable overview of the history of God's people up to that point. The pictures by Jago are modern enough to appeal to "cartoon"-oriented kids but beautiful and awe-inspiring enough to keep parents (and other old fogies!) happy too. This edition is beautifully bound and is ideal for sharing with a large family or group of children. The stories are probably best understood from age 3 upwards but I would not stop any child from listening to it! We also have the edition with the Audio CDs narrated by David Suchet Jesus Storybook Bible Deluxe Edition, they are wonderful too.

Brilliantly written. Sally Lloyd Jones knows just how children think and how to write in a way that appeals to them. The bible stories are written in a way that children can understand and that can be thought provoking for adults since the language and ideas are very relatable! Beautifully illustrated. This is the best children's bible I have come across - and I have viewed a lot! You can view the spoken version on youtube so that you know exactly what you are getting in terms of the content and pictures (which are the same on youtube as in the book). Highly recommended.
