Outstanding watch - and not too small for guys
I wanted a watch that looks good, is accurate, water resistant, able to take everyday knocks and, more importantly, isn't too big on the wrist. My choice boiled down to two - Casio G-Shock and Timex Expedition. The G-Shocks are the toughest watches money can buy (probably) and seemed to fit all the criteria, so I got one. However, I've found that it's just that bit too chunky for me. And then I found this.Timex have several models in this Expedition range with only cosmetic differences to the case and strap. All of them look great, but I decided on this all black version. As a guy, I was a bit worried that a midsize watch might be too small (and girlie) for my 7" wrist, but I'm pleased to say that it isn't at all, though Timex also have a larger version (T45961 and variants). Personally, I prefer the smaller size. Having a resin case means it's also very light and durable.I won't dwell on the features as these are pretty much standard for a digital watch, though the digits are a good size and in addition you do get three alarms and a timer, plus one other feature that sets Timex apart and which I love - Indiglo - in this case illuminating only the digits not the whole face, which I think is more refined. I'm also greatly impressed with the overall finish and quality feel of the watch. For example, the lettering is etched, rather rather than printed, and the buttons have positive and wobble-free operation.I've decided to keep the supplied strap primarily because it's extremely well made. I thought it would be flimsy and need replacement, but if anything the opposite is true. Apart from having resin pieces at the spring bar ends engraved with the 'E' logo, greatly adding to the overall look, it's made of a double layer of nylon and edge stitched. It's therefore quite thick (about 2mm) with a substantial stainless steel buckle and the holes are very cleanly cut and finished with no burrs. I think it adds greatly to the overall quality and I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts for the lifetime of the watch. I also think that the black and grey stripes on this model look cool, too!Overall, a very good-looking, unobtrusive and durable watch, and quite impressive quality even at twice the price. If you're a guy looking for a smaller size watch with no loss of functionality or features then I'd have no hesitation in unreservedly recommending this, and/or other Expedition series watches from Timex.{}

Watch does NOT have a VIBRATING Alarm
I have to rate this a one star product as I bought it specifically to use the vibrating alarm! It doesn't vibrate, it only beeps.There is no mention of the word vibrate in the paper manual supplied with the product, nor on the manual you can download from the Timex website. Nor can I find such an option exploring all the menu options. I see on eBay it is for sale but there is no mention of vibrate in the description.I can't see an option to refer the product description to Amazon, so I will review it as it currently is:Product DescriptionTimex Gents Expedition Vibrating Alarm Chronograph Watch T496614E Product Description : - Quartz Digital Movement - Resin case - Material strap - Digital dial with INDIGLO® - Shock resistant - Day and Date Window - Chronograph - Vibrating Alarm - 100m water resistant Also Comes With : - 1 Year Manufacturer's Guarantee - Presentation Watch BoxBut for it failing the test for the main reason I bought it, my other comment would be that it is one of the smallest gents watches I have bought. So if you like small gents watches consider this one, but don't buy it if you want to use the vibrating alarm.This should shortly be going back to Amazon for a refund. A bargain for £14 though as long as you don't need it to vibrate!

Pretty decent
On my second one of these, as the strap on the first one eventually broke (when that happens, it isn't repairable - you could replace the strap I suppose but for the cost of the watch, you probably wouldn't bother).The watch is very small, almost ladies size - I was quite surprised when I first saw it - it look meatier in the picture than it actually is. It's a nice, simple device that takes hardly any time to set up. It has alarms and stopwatches, not that anyone with a smartphone would ever use those features on a watch these days but what I really like about this watch is the Indiglo design. Unlike previous Timex watches I've had that light up the room with full backlighting, this model turns only the digits blue. It's perfectly readable, without distracting those around you when you want to tell the time in a cinema or theatre for example.The white strip on the strap gets dirty pretty quickly and there isn't a lot you can do about that other than keep scrubbing it clean, but apart from that it's a nice cheap watch that does exactly what you'd expect.

It's not gents watch. It's tiny for a baby.
It's a toy - definitely not gents watch.

Functional, light
Lightweight watch, you don't notice it on your wrist, and comfortable fabric band. Quite small for a gents watch, could easily pass for a woman's watch.
