What is the advantage of this over something like a raspberry pi or stick pc running windows?

I use it to run a video art installation by the artist Peter Campus - the artist recommend the BrightSign device. It is extremely robust and requires no interaction, setup etc. You plug it in, insert the memory chip with the video on it and it just plays it in a constant loop. Mine has been running for months without any hick-up. If this is what you are after, I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

Is this compatible with Brightsigns app or does this only use the SD card for entering information?
