Looks good, feels bad:(
Not very sturdy for an item that cost over £50. Not as well made as Diamond Selects range of ships. Seems to be made from a much lighter grade of plastic and most definitely not worth the £51.18 pricetag.Item arrived from America (even though the sellers name suggested that they were based in the UK) with a very battered box because the seller did not bother to put any padding in the box. So i'm uncertain if the item has been broken or if it just needs the batteries replaced as it is not currently working. Have not checked the batteries yet to confirm this as i don't want to mess with it too much because it is a present.Cheap plastic and non working lights and sounds aside, it certainly looks the part. Very accurate to the phaser that was seen in Star Trek: The Search For Spock but as said it is just not worth the money. £20 would have been a more fair price for this item.

No federation starship would be without one, providing you have an engineer to put the batteries in.
I like this but, there are some flaws. It's a good toy in principal because it comes in two parts, which I find to be a unique selling point but, it's blinking hard to get it to come apart. I suppose it's hard to find a balance between being too easy and it falling apart and too hard and needing a wrench to remove. It's also a nightmare to get batteries into it, as you need to take the thing to bits to do that. Once they're in though, you're away! You can battle the meanest Klingon and I daresay any Borg drone would bolt in the other direction once they get a look at you with that phaser in hand. Plus, conceal the type 1 up your sleeve and you can be armed on a diplomatic mission too. Woopee. Packaging was okay but the price is a bit high. Always the way with a licensed product so I don't begrudge it. Overall I'm still happy so it's 3 stars for me!

It's a beautiful looking Phaser
The phaser is an absolute joy to have, bot as display and to play around with. It's in amazing condition, the electronics work wonderfully, a great addition for any Trekkie's collection

Phasers on deep fat fryer...
Needed batteries (hence 4 stars) but not a bad model with a few too many screw holes. One of the better film Trek phaser 1 and 2 designs, I think.

Its a nice collectable. It does feel a little light
Its a nice collectable. It does feel a little light, but that's only because the pistol part hardly has anything in it. All the electronic parts are in the detachable hand phaser.
